What do you hope to accomplish in 2014?

What are your short term goals? (things that can be accomplished in 2-3 weeks)
What are your mid-range goals? (things that can be accomplished in 3 weeks- 6 months)
What are your long term goals? (things that can be accomplished in greater than 6 months)

Bonus question:

What is on your reading list for 2014?

I have something called a resolution notebook that I've made the last few years. In it, I write my goals for the next year (limited to 10 or less), then assign them point values (e.g. 1 for a very simple goal, 5 for very difficult). Based on the values and number of goals, I set an ultimate point goal for myself to have obtained by the end of the year. This year, a few of my goals for the notebook include:

Be accepted into grad school
Move to either Michigan or Canada (depends on above)
Advance my relationship
Improve my fitness
Keep in contact with my brother

Most goals are long-term and involve regular upkeep, hence the need for the notebook; it tracks my progress, point totals, changes, etc. It's the only method that has ever allowed me to keep my resolutions.

short-term: make less mistakes in general
Mid-range: enter at least one piano competition [something I've never done :( ]
Long-term: refine/reform studying methods & prepare for college

It's a coincidence that I came up with these goals at the start of the new year, but they're not intended to be resolutions. Calling something a resolution for the year makes it seem temporary and likely to fail (at least to me) - it's very demotivating.

I think those are all good goals, for sure.

My goals work on a slightly different timescale this year as my final exams (those that count to get into university) are either in late October or early November. As is:

1. Become closer to the paragon of the English Gentleman
2. Priority: Get an ATAR of at least 99.65
3. Following that, 3 priorities:

a. Increasing hours worked
b. Substantial progress on driving licence
c. 'Life Experience' (eg. enter a proper chess tournament)

In the short term I have to review all my materials from last year, and in the mid-term I want to work on getting my fitness up so I can top my grade at athletics carnivals and such, as opposed to simply being top 5; it's the final year of schooling, and the last chance.

I have many other small goals and ideas, but those are some of the substantial one. What about you YYW? What are your plans?

-ghost write less (or more- undecided on that)
-get drunk less (or more- see above)
-pass my classes (also undecided)
-transfer to another school (dependent on the above)
-do less drugs
-spend less/more time on Tumblr

*I'm obviously undecided on a lot of these

Well I'm highly extroverted yet relatively shy. I desire to get out there and be friends with everyone and sometimes I chicken out.

My goal (which by the way was set about 2 weeks before New Years) is simply to be more outgoing. This was my first day back from Christmas break so I got to test out my resolution and it went quite well.

I hope to keep working at it.

Also run and meditate on days where I'm not doing anything particularly productive. This ensures that everyday is a productive day.

I've been keeping that up for about two weeks also.
