I get sweaty palms on ferris wheels. So yeah, that was horrible to watch. Can't imagine he has a good life expectancy.

The reason I said it is because it happens to most people who watch the video lol It is psychological. When you watch it, all you think about subconsciously are sweaty palms because you know that if he has them he would fall to his death. Thus, you end up with sweaty palms.

Tell me... Of all the adaptive mechanisms humans have to survive, why is it that we have curious mechanisms that seem to be the exact opposite of survival-based? Like sweaty palms when we get nervous - that's all I need is the inability to grip anything when I need it the most! Or shock or fainting, or our tendency to freeze up. It's very difficult to think creatively when we have pressure on us.

Not everyone sweat, faints, etc.
So, those that don't ideally would survive, and the others would fall to their death, be eaten by bears, etc.
How is that not survival of the fittest?

I am suggesting that these mechanisms are only in place because we haven't died from them yet.

Pretty sure sweating when nervous has to do with preemptively cooling the body down before an anticipated high level of activity to flee whatever stressful situation causing the fight or flight response.

They have protective gear in case they fall, they will just dangle by a rope. This kid will DIE if he slips.

Ok then 3 seconds of risk than days of risk.

Its quality over quantity. The risk of this kid is way more intense, as he has no protective gear. If the guy on the mountain slips, so what?

I'm willing to bet no mountain climber has the balls to do this stuff (at least not without protective gear). If these guys f*ck up they are dead.
