I'm interested in seeing the scores of other DDO users.

http://personality-testing.info...

Here is a summery of what the test is from Wikipedia

"Machiavellianism is also a term that some social and personality psychologists use to describe a person's tendency to be unemotional, and therefore able to detach him or herself from conventional morality and hence to deceive and manipulate others. "

I scored 74 of 100.

Your score was 78 of 100.

This puts you in the category of the high Machs, people who do not belive in the goodness of the world and that because that it must be manipulated, people who Machiavelli would approve of.

A graph of how others who have taken this have scores is below. These scores should not be taken as population norms though, the people who seek out tests of machivellianism on the internet are most likely not representative.

Looks like I'm the winner.

Your score was 45 of 100.

This puts you in the category of the low Machs, people who will hold out for the goodness of the world and avoid manipulation. Not the people Machiavelli would approve of.
It's not your views that divide us, it's what you think my views should be that divides us.

If you think I will give up my rights and forsake social etiquette to make you "FEEL" better you are sadly mistaken

If liberal democrats would just stop shooting people gun violence would drop by 90%

85/100

I expected this - I have little faith in the genuine goodness of humanity. It generally only comes out when under extreme pressure (hence the question about it). I am also very untrusting of people, and will take the best possible advantage I can get from situations, but I try to think of other people, however horribly I do so.
I'm becoming less defined as days go by, fading away, and well you might say, I'm losing focus, kinda drifting into the abstract in terms of how I see myself.

Really? That's kind of high...

I'm fairly cynical. My natural inclination is to be fairly weasel-like--I just make it a point not to follow that. I suspect that I didn't get a higher score because I don't give no sh**s about being important.

That's kind of surprising. I've always thought of you as a pretty nice, reasonable, not inherently Machiavellian kind of guy.

I always liked Mycroft... but that might say more of me than it does of your being Machiavellian.

I particularly like him in the new BBC series...though, I've always wanted to be a member, for a host of reasons, of a Diogenes Club.

I like to think I have ethics and morals which supersede my natural ability to see the various angles of a given situation--so that I may WANT to do X thing because it will be effective, but I do not because it would also be douchey.

And my "Machiavellian" tendencies are much more effective when I'm not doing things myself, but rather analyzing situations that others are in. Personally, I occasionally have hew-mon emotions, and I find them problematic, confusing, and bothersome.
