Post your love poems here. How would you treat love poems as opposed to other poems? I feel there should be a unique style to it. I've never written love poems to any girl neither have i showed serious passion as i've technically never been in an official relationship. If the time ever came to express myself to a girl, it would come when she least expects it and at the moment when it will mostly surprise her at it's beauty.

Oh how I love kfc
It's what they say to trolls like me
I in turn say it to other trolls
The phrase brings out in me some lols
Trolling's good, love's overrated
But how I love to see y'all frustrated

O, darling
there really is nobody like you
even now, I don't know what to say

words are my finest asset
but
I'm struck dumb just thinking about you

Tank Man stopped them at Tiananmen Square
but
you could've turned them around

Ptolemy erred in explaining retrograde motion
but
you send me in epicycles
clumsy
and
a little overcomplicated

I'm a big deal in certain circles
I'm accustomed to being in command, dear
so why am I powerless when you snuggle up next to me
and
take my hand?

Alright, alright, you've got me.
I surrender.

My favorite:

How Falling in Love is like Owning a Dog
by Taylor Mali

First of all, it"s a big responsibility,
especially in a city like New York.
So think long and hard before deciding on love.
On the other hand, love gives you a sense of security:
when you"re walking down the street late at night
and you have a leash on love
ain"t no one going to mess with you.
Because crooks and muggers think love is unpredictable.
Who knows what love could do in its own defense?

On cold winter nights, love is warm.
It lies between you and lives and breathes
and makes funny noises.
Love wakes you up all hours of the night with its needs.
It needs to be fed so it will grow and stay healthy.

Love doesn"t like being left alone for long.
But come home and love is always happy to see you.
It may break a few things accidentally in its passion for life,
but you can never be mad at love for long.

Is love good all the time? No! No!
Love can be bad. Bad, love, bad! Very bad love.

Love makes messes.
Love leaves you little surprises here and there.
Love needs lots of cleaning up after.
Somethimes you just want to get love fixed.
Sometimes you want to roll up a piece of newspaper
and swat love on the nose,
not so much to cause pain,
just to let love know Don"t you ever do that again!

Sometimes love just wants to go out for a nice long walk.
Because love loves exercise. It will run you around the block
and leave you panting, breathless. Pull you in different directions
at once, or wind itself around and around you
until you"re all wound up and you cannot move.

But love makes you meet people wherever you go.
People who have nothing in common but love
stop and talk to each other on the street.

Throw things away and love will bring them back,
again, and again, and again.
But most of all, love needs love, lots of it.
And in return, love loves you and never stops.

Seriously, though, I'm not stupid enough to post love poetry on a public forum.

I actually have written a fair few, although never to someone i'm actually romantically interested in. But I doubt my love poems would be appreciated by anyone except the person it was written for. I tend to find a lot of love poems painfully generic and imagery ridden for the sake of it, even though i doubt that was the reaction of the person receiving them. Its just, personal. One of those things that others can't appreciate as much as the person it was written for.

My love,
born in the same times, no mere coincidence
the gods granted my wish
past lives are all but forgotten
deny me not what the angels have given
growth while separate, together let us dance
lost in your eyes, o what a glance
your smile could cause flowers to blossom
the coldest winter nights are warm with your touch
stay in place, so I may hold you longer
perfect fit, safe within my grasp
let us build a house, high up in the mountains
the forest will witness as we live in love
planting of seeds, we will reap what we sow
the sound of streams will match that of our songs
for every day that passes with you is a time eternal
the world will smile upon us
chaos will not be known beyond our gates
we will walk on water, and heal our wounds
together we will create life, forever leaving our mark upon this world
this, my love, is my love, boundless and unknown to all but myself.

Very true, I've never written one before either and take the same position. I feel there is a time and place as well as a moment in which it should be read only to the person you are interested in.

lol it doesn't have to be written to anyone in particular, it could be made on the spot like Blade's poem.
