DDO has really changed my life and my outlook in many ways. For one I don't feel the urge to challenge every atheist to a debate, or anyone who disagreed with me for that matter. It taught me that homosexuals are people too, and not some scary unknown monsters. It showed me there's a lot I haven't considered. I've learned how to control myself better and how to react graciously even I was called an intolerant female dog. I've learned I can't trust everyone, and that forgiveness and kindness goes a long way. I've learned I can't judge a book by its cover and I can have great relationships with people I disagree strongly with.

I learned some texting shorthand, and lots of emoticons. I now know what trolling is and what "lol" means. I learned there's a lot of profanity out there, but it's easy to ignore. I've learned so many life lessons here. This is one of the many reasons I love this site.

I love the people on here too. I've made invaluable friends I have never met, but who have impacted my life. They have rejoiced with me, mourned with me, and taught me a lot about how to work through relationships. I've learned more tolerance and how to communicate better. I'm far from perfect, but I've come a long way. When I first joined nine months ago, if someone said something I disagreed with, I'd pounce on them and try to set them straight. Now I usually just let it go unless it was addressed to me, and then say it as kindly as I can.

I guess the greatest lesson I've learned is to keep my temper. I still lose it a lot, but it's more under control now. It can be hard when someone insults me or something important to me, but the beauty of text based communication is the delete key. Sometime I have revised a reply two or three times. I also can take my time and reply when I can do so courteously.

In short, I've learned a lot. What about you? What have you learned?

Though it is funny, and telling, that you want to use number of dead bodies seen and thugs you've interacted with as a measure to how much of the world you've seen.

Since things like the Eiffel Tower and Taj Mahal are really boring as fvck when you see them, I like using dead bodies.

No matter what country they live in, everyone is interested when you say "Hey kids, wanna see a dead body?!"

I've learned that people who disagree with my political outlook can be pretty cool and rational too, lol. I've also learned that some people have some real issues and try to troll and spam their way banned. And I've learned that semantics are everyone's worst enemy. And some people are just fanatical. But some people are highly intellectual and well-reasoned. So there's really a mix. Overall it's cool. I learned how to get better at debating.

Oh and learned that first round is usually for acceptance. Lol

That literally any idea can be defended well.
"The Collectivist experiment is thoroughly suited (in appearance at least) to the Capitalist society which it proposes to replace. It works with the existing machinery of Capitalism, talks and thinks in the existing terms of Capitalism, appeals to just those appetites which Capitalism has aroused, and ridicules as fantastic and unheard-of just those things in society the memory of which Capitalism has killed among men wherever the blight of it has spread."

Lol

Totally with you there. :)

That literally any idea can be defended well.

Interesting.

No they're not. They just lie there. You ever see one do a trick? Other than shoving a lit stick of dynamite up their butts?

DDO has taught me that:

There is still smart people in this world. Well about 1% of the population on here. But truth, reasonable and smart people still exist.
