Have any of you ever explored the deep web? If so, what did you think of it?

By the way, to any of you who do not know what the deep web is, I highly recommend not exploring it. For your psychological well being, this is a case where you should allow your morbid curiosities to remain unappeased.

Though I'm pulling the skeptic card on some of this.

Like those that access the deep web are truly anonymous and cannot possibly be tracked.

Somehow the police found out about all this? How did that happen? It couldn't have been just leaving articles like this explaining it, could it?

Nice try, FBI. You'll need better bees to create a more enticing honey-pot.

I watched some child porn vid in the deep web before. I'm surprised that it was very easy to find.

And I lol'd when I found the terrorists sites.

So basically just use Tor and you can access all sorts of criminal stuff on the Internet. Interesting...

Its where all the pedophiles, hitman, terrorists, mad scientists, etc search the web.

The deep web is also slow as hell. It takes me a minute to load a page.

I used to use TOR (still have it installed), and I think it's a wild part of the web. Like, if the web had a wild west side, it's the deep web. I just don't like how slow TOR is due to all the server jumping. That's my biggest issue with it and also the reason why I don't use it for too much.

By the way, to any of you who do not know what the deep web is, I highly recommend not exploring it. For your psychological well being, this is a case where you should allow your morbid curiosities to remain unappeased.

It's not that bad if you go in with a purpose. I went in and bought some shroom spores using the silk-road back when it was still online. The shroom spores arrived with no issues, so it's not all that bad as long as you know what you're doing. It's also perfect for sending encrypted emails, because let's be real, those public-access encryption email services are all bs. Other than that though I don't access the deep web.

Most people won't even know what to do with themselves on the deep web. In most cases you need to know the address of the site you wish to visit, it's not like you can find these places through google searches, lol. Ultimately, I think the warning is pointless because unless they know what they're looking for, the deep web won't be an issue since stuff on there doesn't just fall into your lap the moment you hop in.

Regularly.
I enjoy visiting it and have purchased several things off of it. Not weapons, people, or drugs but other hard to find items such as rare games and the like. It's also where a sh*t load of "deleted files" are kept so it's fun to sneak around looking into.
I also have a few chat rooms I frequent.

Not all of it is bad. That's the "Dark Web".

Nah. There are plenty of sites to find addresses.

The fact that those sites are listed publicly and can easily be seen by any watchful eyes makes me wary of even visiting them. Not all of them of course, since some are just harmless search engines like DuckDuckGo which is something I use even when I'm not on TOR, lol. But links on there like "counterfeit USD" for instance, the fact that it's able to be seen by regular means would be a red flag.

Lol, I'll check that out! There seems to be several various links, all for "hidden wiki", though. I wonder if that's where the banned/censored wiki pages go to rest, lmao.

Yep. Since TOR was developed by the Navy, don't trust anything you do being "secret".
Think of it as a giant city with Interpol cameras everywhere.

Lol, they didn't just create TOR, they created the internet altogether back in the 60's (technically it was thanks to the contracts for packet network systems given out by the DoD). I think, if anything, it just makes it more difficult to be tracked, and considering the effort it'd take they'd probably only use serious tracking resources for the worst offenders there.

There are good (positive) reasons to use tor. Also, to security, nothing is going to be 100%, but this is more than just encryption. It is also how you are routed. Bounding around node to node, each step becoming more anonymous. Yea, not perfect, but darn hard to track.
