Best Buy. Their Geek Squad is the best.

Basically it's a hardware problem, not a software problem.

When it comes to networking issues I use the Best Buy Geek Squad, they do home visits. If it's a hardware/software issue I go to a local shop. They will pull out the stops to solve a problem because they have to compete with the Geeks. Local businesses are often much less expensive as well.

What kind of "local shop"s are you talking about?

Then find something local. They are cheaper than Geek Squad.

Do not go to geek squad. They overcharge you for the simplest things. It's like 30 bucks just to take a look at, and then the actual cost would be over 100 bucks. Try a local dealer. It depends on where u live though/

I thought I responded to you earlier, but I guess it didn't take. Anyway, around here we have local repair shops, store fronts. Until I found someone I liked I simply used an online phone book for computer repair shops in my local area. There are two within 10 minutes of my home. One is very fast with hardware issues, usually same day fixes. The other is preferred when my spouse infects the computer with a download full of viruses that consumer-end products can't eliminate.

Any brand-name stores that offer hardware repair services?

Any local business that specializes in computer repair. I can't give you specific examples because I have no idea where you live.

Use Yelp or Yellow Pages. Those should help you find a local repair business.

Only Best Buy and they charge a bundle. Compuserv went out of business a decade ago, so that's all that's left. REALLY, do try a local business, I've had very good luck with them since the early 90's. Name brand services, I found are more trouble than they are worth; like an auto center they seem to find other problems real or imagined for you to spend more money, and they are much slower in turnaround. As Yoda once stated, have faith and the force will be with you.
