1. What do you think of Popper as a philosopher of science?

Falsificationism is pretty brilliant. Although since I've adopted indirect skepticism. I'm a little hesitant to accept his views.
2. What is your position on scientific realism?

Instrumentalism seems to be a better solution to the problem of underdetermination than scientific realism.
3. What is your position on Bayesianism?

4. Which belief structure do you think is more fundamentally flawed, logical positivsm or postmodernism?

Postmodernism. I think contradicting yourself on the nature of truth is worse than the nature of meaning.
5. Of the math you've studied, what do you think is the most confusing mathematical concept you've encountered?

Trig really makes me stop and think more than most of what I've studied. Graphs of trig functions specifically.

Also, not a concept, but word problems. With raw math I can just sit back and calculate, but word problems really make you sift thorough the info given and think. It's much more difficult.
6. Favorite song under 1 minute?

Rumpelkombo by Alestorm because it's only 6 seconds and 4 of that is silence.
7. Favorite song over 20 minutes?

How Far to Asgaard by Tyr. Although, 9 minutes of it is silence, then the remaining 10 is a poem.
8. What song generates the most emotion in you (any emotion)?

Epica's The Divine Conspiracy. Epic sound and it crosses over into multiple genres. From relaxed to energetic back to relaxed.
9. Would you agree that Hayley Williams is the most attractive woman of our generation, yes or yes?

Yes. I can't watch their videos because Hayley is too distracting.
10. Out of these presidential candidates, which one do you like the most - Donald Trump or Donald Trump?

Bernie Trump.
11. Do you accept Richard Feynman as your lord and savior?

Yes. And Paul Dirac as his prophet.

1. What do you think of Popper as a philosopher of science?

Falsificationism is pretty brilliant. Although since I've adopted indirect skepticism. I'm a little hesitant to accept his views.

I think Popper is too skeptical. I think he's fundamentally right that we can never know if a theory is true, but he extends this point way too far. He proposes no solutions for theories being "almost" true as a basis for using scientific theories practically.
2. What is your position on scientific realism?

Instrumentalism seems to be a better solution to the problem of underdetermination than scientific realism.

Interesting. What do you think of the Miracle Argument (i.e. the argument that any position other than scientific realism is not able to explain the continued success of scientific theories, and must treat such success as a miracle)?
3. What is your position on Bayesianism?

4. Which belief structure do you think is more fundamentally flawed, logical positivsm or postmodernism?

Postmodernism. I think contradicting yourself on the nature of truth is worse than the nature of meaning.

To me, I like what the logical positivists tried to do, even though there's no way that anything like what they're hoping for is going to materialize. Postmodernism, on the other hand, seems to be too invested in skepticism about knowledge in general for me to even take seriously.
5. Of the math you've studied, what do you think is the most confusing mathematical concept you've encountered?

Trig really makes me stop and think more than most of what I've studied. Graphs of trig functions specifically.

Anything more specific?

Let's face it, I watch Paramore's music videos 90% for Hayley and 10% for the music. Just listening to the music seems incomplete.

Favorite Game?
Mass Effect 2.
Opinion on Mass Effect 3's (original) ending?

Original: It sucked and was confusing.
Extended cut DLC: It was disappointing. Especially the choice that leaves the fate of Shepard's life undetermined.
It feels like a rip off of the ending to Foundation's Edge either way. I usually play ME3 with the MEHEM mod anyway so I forget about the original ending.

Just because a scientific theory is successful doesn't tell us why it's successful. Maybe because it represents reality, or because we are using the most useful instrument.

Just because a scientific theory is successful doesn't tell us why it's successful. Maybe because it represents reality, or because we are using the most useful instrument.

But it seems kind of suspicious that scientific theories, particularly ones not related to physics, seem to have a very high rate of accuracy and precision given that the success of that theory is simply a coincidence. There should be something at least resembling what the theory uses to explain why the theory is successful at making predictions.
3. What is your position on Bayesianism?

Just realized I missed this one. I think it has some flaws in it, although I consider most epistemological positions to have flaws in them.

My main problem with it is the notion of prior probabilities. It seems to be begging the question is you start with a high prior probability, but if you start with too low of one, you'll need a lot of evidence to get to an acceptable probability of being "true".
5. Of the math you've studied, what do you think is the most confusing mathematical concept you've encountered?

Trig really makes me stop and think more than most of what I've studied. Graphs of trig functions specifically.

Graphing a section from its periodicity. Also thinking in terms of radians rather than degrees. I keep converting it in my head rather than just understanding what the radian itself means.

Pi radians is 180 degrees, so a radian is 180/pi degrees. Radians are useful because there'd be 180/pi factors all over physical equations otherwise. The periodicity of trigonometric functions comes from that fact that 0 degrees equals 360 degrees (or 0 radians equals 2pi radians). Each trigonometric function will look exactly the same graphed from two "complementary" sets for that reason.
Also, not a concept, but word problems. With raw math I can just sit back and calculate, but word problems really make you sift thorough the info given and think. It's much more difficult.

It's not because of coincidence, but because that instrument is the most useful. So, we'd expect predictions to be verified.

My main problem with it is the notion of prior probabilities. It seems to be begging the question is you start with a high prior probability, but if you start with too low of one, you'll need a lot of evidence to get to an acceptable probability of being "true".
The problem of priors is one of the deal breakers. Plus the problem of old evidence. If an old evident proposition is implied by a new proposition, the probability of the old proposition doesn't change, but we take the new proposition to be supported.
5. Of the math you've studied, what do you think is the most confusing mathematical concept you've encountered?
