People have a tendency to love talking about themselves. People also have certain perceptions of themselves, whether they be ideal, distorted, or grounded in reality. How would you describe yourself to someone who doesn't know you? How do you wish you "should" be (as what you believe should conform to society, unless you don't care about what society thinks)? What do you want to "be" (not as in occupation, but as a person)? How do you think others perceive you? What are you not? What do you think are the greatest things about you and what do you think are the worst things about you? Discuss.

If you know me, you know I like telling stories. This is mainly due to all the thoughts that fly through my head, any key words randomly reminding me of something, and usually as soon as it shows up, I want to share it, regardless if it's relevant to the conversation. I love telling stories, and I enjoy talking about who I am, so yeah.

When it boils down to it, anything I enjoy, I usually have friends who are better at it. Before I really got into games and the internet, it was usually stuff like running, playing other games, doing outdoor activities and the like. I never really thought highly of myself because I knew people who were better at it. This continued into gaming, like minecraft pvp when I was 13 or something. I was alright, but my friends were easily much better than me.

So when I got into cross country, and could run not only faster, but farther, than all of my friends, I really enjoyed it. Now, of course, most of my friends run, and some are faster and can run farther than me, but I don't really care about that anymore, especially since I can run with them. Another thing that showed up was actually osu!, and it's one of the reasons why I still play it as much as I do. While my other friends got into it for a while, I was usually better. Now, I was still trash, but being able to do what I could do on a laggy computer that rarely broke 100fps, mouse that barely fit in my hand, and a keyboard with terrible input lag made me feel like I could potentially be better than I currently was. Once I got better components and a non-laggy computer (1200-2000fps ;D), I began to improve much faster, and am definitely far ahead of any of my irl friends. The only two friends I have that could really catch up at this point are Valkrin and another friend not on DDO, and even then, they'd have a tough time getting there. At best, they can pass a 5 star map. At best, I can Full Combo a 5 star map (not miss any circles, nor break combo) and pass some 6 star maps. Being that much better than my friends at something is a major reason why I keep playing.

Also, Opsianos is catching up to me pretty fast. He can probably catch up to my current progress in another two months or so, tbh. So yeah, glad for him :3

What I'd like to be is a friend, really. I like befriending people, despite my social awkwardness. I want to be someone that people can be comfortable around, enjoy talking with, and come to with problems.

I think others perceive me in a few ways. If they know me really well, like my close friends and fellow patrol members (scouts), they'd say I was annoying, but then again we're all annoying. If it's just a regular friend...probably a little similar, but idk what else. I think for most people who don't know me, I'm really nice and friendly, but a bit awkward.

One thing I'd say is really great about me is my inability to get angry. Sure, I get easily annoyed, but rarely have I ever gotten "angry" or "mad" about something or at someone. Heck, the last time I can remember actually being mad about something was 2 years ago, when we were playing a game in history (I can share that story later ;D). I'm also very calm in real life, with a huge tolerance level, and don't really do anything to purposely get myself in trouble.

Worst thing about me would probably be that I'm terrible at picking up on problems when it's obvious to others. Sure, I notice obvious things, but I'll rarely notice if someone seems to be acting different. I can, however, pick up on the smallest of things that people don't usually notice, for some reason.
I guess a good example would be if I were to write a story about someone who already exists. Recreating them in dialogue, I'm not very good at. If they would say something, I would often have them say something else that's not exactly something they would often say. Instead, I get their actions spot on. I guess it's more of a visual thing versus and audible thing?

Also, music :D

I honestly am not sure why he left. I've asked him once or twice about joining a hangout, and he said no. I think something irl happened that made him leave, and he didn't want to come back after that. Heck, he wouldn't even talk to me in-game for about 3-4 weeks after he left.

He seems to be doing well now, and we talk whenever we're both online. He's already better than me at streaming (alternating long lines of circles), and last I saw, he's around 56k global (I'm 48k, so he's not too far behind me). He's even been making a beat map, and I've been testing it out (my accuracy is cancer whenever I play it though).

Hello, I'm a moron, pleased to meet you!

How do you wish you "should" be (as what you believe should conform to society, unless you don't care about what society thinks)?

I don't know.

What do you want to "be" (not as in occupation, but as a person)?

A better person.

How do you think others perceive you?

Negatively.

What are you not?

Intelligent and needed.

What do you think are the greatest things about you and what do you think are the worst things about you? Discuss.

Good things about me = nothing.
Bad things about me = everything.

Boi, you knew if I put in as much time into osu as I do into CS, I'd be leaps and bounds ahead :P
And also I pass 5* maps whenever I get on, but I prefer a good combo over passing.
I really need to put you in your place soon xD

I'm glad you read that. I've been bored ever since you and Stephan stopped playing. While you might be able to match me in combo, I sure can beat you in passing stuff ;3

Also, multiplayer games are stupid because I either do terrible and lose, or get a really high combo, but terrible accuracy. Unless it was a really easy map, I can only think of maybe 2 or 3 maps that I've FC'd in a multiplayer, and maybe one of them was actually a good play (both combo and accuracy).

There isn't much to say about me unless you like watching a circus that best belongs in a zoo. I won't go there when it's better to watch you. Not you literally. Others. Masquerading social media for intimacy, and watch the memberships to lonely hearts multiply. They bicker, buy drugs, and search for sex to feed the emptiness of desire. At first it was entertaining enough to watch people's lives fall apart online, but now I've gone deeper into the cyber skin of real personalities, many of which I've never met before. You could say it's more fun to be them then it is to be me. But to do this proper you can't just sit idol while stalking them on FB, or whatever, you must hack them completely. Take over their accounts and become the person they always wished they could be. Creepy. I know. It was a freak show long before I became them. All calls routed to me. With multiple accounts crossing into accounts, who has time to talk. The only secrets are secrets do not exist. Being nobody has never been so much fun.

I would describe myself as a weirdo to a person I've just met. I want to have a more precise ideology about certain issues. I want to become a hyperpolyglot in the future. People usually define me as an oddball and as a funny person, even though my jokes aren't that dank. The best thing about me, perhaps is the fact that I'm funny and creative and the worst thing about me is my sensitivity and my idiocy.

The answer to the question who am I -- the one that we repeat to ourselves (and only ourselves) -- is the biggest lie we'll ever face. It is grounded in desires, drives (sex and death), pre-intellectual processes, predilections, traumas, and fears that we internalize and restructure into an intelligible, but always false and fleeting, narrative.

But since sex and death are so fundamental to us, we keep plunging into this inner stream to make sense of it, forming a narrative in an attempt to control these unconscious drives. This is the distortion with which we then "ground" reality.

How would you describe yourself to someone who doesn't know you?
In the simplest and most informal sense. I would then punt and change the subject until I have a reasonable account of who my interlocutor is. If intrigued, I'll pursue a subject matter that draws us both in. If conflicted, I'll try to rattle the cage a bit to see what happens. (It's always interesting to see how people react once a weakness has been spotted.)

But if I am not interested at all, I'll create a chasm to separate myself from him/her. By towering above the other -- looking down, as it were -- I'll hopefully implant a strong-enough resentment so as to render void any possibility of a future encounter.

How do you wish you "should" be (as what you believe should conform to society, unless you don't care about what society thinks)? What do you want to "be" (not as in occupation, but as a person)?
I'd put it differently. Rather than having a singular approach to society as such, I prefer different approaches to different niches of society. I couldn't, for instance, intermix the jargon of cultivated society with that of a bar hangout. But I am more at ease where I don't have to feign interest, where I conform as little as possible.

How do you think others perceive you?
Anything from a sophisticate to a douchebag to an insufferable bore.

What are you not?
Impecunious, poorly educated, and unimaginative.

What do you think are the greatest things about you and what do you think are the worst things about you?
Best: My ability to brush off loss, adversity, and opposition.

Worst: My inability to stay attached to a particular scene; restlessness and world-weariness.
