I can't tell whether or not you're being sarcastic . . .
It's the Preliminary Standardized Achievement Test. Basically 3 hours of filling in bubble sheets.

A little tip I always used in school. Just remember "abracadabra" This makes it look like you actually tried instead of just putting all a's or something.

you skip the r, the word abacadaba is just harder to remember than abracadabra. If the multiple choice test goes up t "E", I can't help you.

This is going to sound nuts, but what if you try to figure out the answers for fghi?

My advice is to just do the best you can. The PSATs can get you amazing scholarship money; lots of schools down south will give you full tuition if you become a National Merit Scholar (I believe that's about the 98th-99th percentile of test takers). That money literally made my college decision for me, and I'm extremely thankful for it.

That being said, there are plenty of other options if that doesn't pan out, but it's definitely worth a shot.

None of that really happens freshman year, though. It's just practice for now. Of course, I'm still going to try to do well on it, but it'll be way more important for college/scholarship stuff in the next two years.

I already know that my english scores will be high, my reading/writing skills will be high, my science scores will be around average (if not a little above), and my math scores will be about 10-15% below average (I think average for math is 50%, and I got 34% last time).

That sounds pretty good. I think I'll score pretty well in most of the sections (unless there's a biology section, lol) but I don't know because I've never taken it before.

Well, it's the one test that can pratically dettermine your future's outcome. I suggest that you try your hardest.

I'm actually doing really well in math right now. It's just that the only thing I remember from Algebra 1 (which I took two years ago) is factoring.
So I'm sitting in my living room staring at this practice test going "I know I learned this, but how the heck do I do it?"
Maybe I can read a whole textbook in one night as review.

Why is it the PSATs that determine National Merit Scholar and not the SATs? I don't understand . . .
I don't think it affects me too much this year, since I'm in ninth grade. Next year and Junior year it'll definitely matter.

Don't do it the night before. Trust me when I say I'd rather not study at all and get plenty of sleep than study all night and not go to sleep until 3 in the morning. Sleep helps a lot more in the long run.

As for math, my problem with it is a lot of times when I look at my notes, I've got already completed equations, and I have no idea what I did to solve it, I just have all of the work and the answer, but it doesn't tell me why I did it or in what order...

Earlier this year, while I was studying in the United States, I took the new version of the SAT out of curiosity and received a 1510/1600.
If I'm not mistaken, the PSAT should be a somewhat easier version of the SAT, if that's case the it shouldn't be that difficult.
The mathematics on the SAT was rudimentary algebra and geometry.
The English section wasn't too bad...the critical reading section, in my opinion, was the most difficult thing.
Once again, Good luck for when you take it!

Lol, most of the math portion goes by much faster for me than most people in my grade, and it's not because I'm a math whiz. It's because it goes like this:

"Okay, here's the question. Now what's the answer?" *looks at options* "Well f**k if I know." *circles random answer*

You might want to practice more then, because if you do that on the actual SAT, you're pretty much screwed.
