Hi everybody who reads this!
We have made a group concerning our theme week. We have a project task to do, and it is about death penalty in the U.S.A. We want to know all about how you guys feel. Our group is against death penalty, but still we want to hear your opinions. How does the legalization of death penalty have an effect on your society in the U.S.A. Are you guys more satisfied about murderers getting what they "deserve" or are you guys just sad about it? Just write down everything you feel. And of course if you don't want to share then it is okay.

"Punishment is the authoritative imposition of something negative or unpleasant on a person or animal in response to behavior"

If a person is dead they cannot feel anything negative or unpleasant because they are dead...Meaning death cannot be a punishment.

I am against the death penalty when it comes to harsh criminals who have committed horrible crimes, because how can they think about what they have done and suffer if they are dead? If anything, death is a way OUT of suffering and things unpleasant. I don't believe harsh criminals (murders, rapists) deserve to be able to die, they should live so they can actually be punished.

I believe that we have no rights at all to take the anyone's life away from them. We did not give it to them so that we can just go and take it. Yes, they deserve to pay for what they did, but a death penalty is just giving them the good way out instead of rotting in a jail cell.

In all instances, as in extreme pacifism, or only when it comes to retributive justice?

As counter-intuitive as it may sound, it's more expensive to house a death-row inmates than it is giving them Life.

its flat out wrong. there is zero justification. the only reason we feel such ways in a moment is hate based. Even though they did something horrable .. make them word in a chain gain or something .. get some positive use.
its immoral to get pleasure of the suffering to others. Killing them does't change anything they are just gone anyways. . There is always some reason that new evidence can be found .. even though its unlikely its no worth the risk..

In a way we are all innocent. people just do what they know. As much as we have ignorance as and excuse. It really always is. we would treat kids as innocent because of there ignorance.. we make a line at 19 .. but remember we just make that up.. it not really existing.. its really only practical . we could be know lots about something and be ignorant about something else..

That sounds pretty voodoo-like-- call a prison death row and its costs skyrocket?
