If you could only choose to have one of the following in any argument, which do you believe is better, is it better to prove that you are right to someone or is it better to prove that someone else is wrong?

If you are disagreeing with someone and the first is always true, than the second is automatically true anyway.

Is it better to prove to someone that 2+2=4, or to prove to them that 2+2=/=10?

It is better to show someone truth than to show someone that they are wrong.

I'd rather be able to prove I am right, but I fail to see much of a distinction.

Well what I was thinking when I asked this is basically is it better to correctly defend your arguments from someone who is questioning/attacking them, or to attack/question someone else's beliefs and proving that they are wrong

Honestly, it depends on the person and the argument. There are times when I don't know the right answer but I know what someone is saying is wrong.
