What would you do differently with your life?

Would it change societies views on love and marriage?

If we were restricted to Earth, what do you think the stipulations for population control would be?

I would say that only the rich and extremely useful get to reproduce to keep the population down, while the rest of the species takes medication by law that that prevents human reproduction in society.

I agree in the sense of having a conscious life of a few dozen years. Biologically I don't think we can handle much more. People would be overcome with memories and ennui. I believe we essentially "recreate" death by erasing memories and sleeping for long periods.

Perhaps, but I also think that if we'd evolve to have such a long life span that our mental capacity would also evolve to cope or else we'd break down and essentially "die" long before our actual lifespan said we should.

Maybe I'm crazy but I think if people lived that long then population growth would slow naturally and it would even out. Either that our homicide would rise 100 fold. One way or another it would fix itself.

Sounds like an invitation to genocide or slavery, maybe both.

I agree with this.

I think we would use innovation to create community housing that would suffice for the time. After that I think we would create/find a food source that is abundant enough for people to survive.

I don't interpret that as the question though. I interpret as me (and others), now, suddenly being given a 1000+ year life span. Not having evolved it gradually over millenia.

This is either a dystopic cynical view of humanity, or a downright vile one, simply for its extreme hostility towards liberty in and of itself. Not to say anything on whether we need population control at all, this essentially justifies the rich suppressing and oppressing the poor.

There would still be financial benefits, as well as religious expectations. If nothing else, they would become less common.

I don't know if this is truly in context of what you meant but the financial consequences of this could be bizarre. If population growth didn't tapper out then you would see massive economic expansion brought on by higher productivity combined with a destruction of personal wealth brought on by lack of supply for goods and services... Heads would roll.
