Evil is an adjective, much like "green". It applies to certain things which fall into a classification we call "evil". As such, it exists as much as any adjective exists when it is exemplified.

This all depends on if you are a moral realist or not. If moral realism is true, then evil exists. If not, then it doesn't.

But doesn't it still exist as an adjective? I mean, one can argue that there's no real "green", but at the same time it is applied to a defined set of wavelengths. Sure, that actually IS fairly arbitrary, but it still is a thing.

Evil is a noun as well.

But it's only a point of view isn't it? So it doesn't exist objectively.

If evil means "no empathy" then I'm pretty sure it exists.

Technically the fact that we are talking about it affirms its existence.
Epsilon: There are so many stories where some brave hero decides to give their life to save the day, and because of their sacrifice, the good guys win, the survivors all cheer, and everybody lives happily ever after. But the hero... never gets to see that ending. They'll never know if their sacrifice actually made a difference. They'll never know if the day was really saved. In the end, they just have to have faith.
