If you were asked to make alternative list of 10 commandments, what would it be?

Put number before each "commandment" and make it concise and laconic.
This is red.

This thread has been done before.

Here's mine:

1. No chewing gum if you're a mouth breather.

2. Don't be an arse hole.

3. Don't show up at your friend's house who has cats with your dog without first asking them if it's okay to bring your dog.

4. Don't write Amazon book reviews if you haven't read the book.

5. Don't be a liar.

6. Hug your kids frequently.

7. Keep your promises, or just don't make them.

8. Use the two minute rule before jumping into a conversation.

9. Take a shower at least once a day.

10. Be charitable toward people, giving them the benefit of the doubt if at all possible.

You can't improve perfection
It's not your views that divide us, it's what you think my views should be that divides us.

If you think I will give up my rights and forsake social etiquette to make you "FEEL" better you are sadly mistaken

No, but you can improve the 10 commandments. You really only need 1; don't be a f*cking prick. Is that so hard?

Eh who's the fukink prick. Sorry for having a differing opinion. I can think of nothing that would be an improvement to the ten commandments. You can't improve perfection.

You are right, you cannot improve perfection, but the 10 commandments aren't perfect, so your statement doesn't apply to that. For one, it is too long. It can be shortened to more general set of principles which cover all basis. Basically, it is inefficient.

Lmao it's not even close. It forgets to add that mass genocide, slavery, and rape is bad. Oh yea, because it will later on advocate to carry out these practices.

The 10 Commandments are rather right-wing IMO. The non-aggression principle is basically their equivalent, bar a few. And, yes, I realise there's a weirdness about reconciling them with political philosophy, but it's utterly justified.

A very basic moral dilemma to illustrate this would be: if you were trapped on a desert island with another person and only the resources to sustain one of you, is it moral that you deprive the other of said resources by any means in order to survive? Now, the intuitive answer is No, of course. But once you get all wrapped up in extended circumstances, it becomes rather less obvious. The 10 Commandments and the specificity they're taken with would actually allow for what would intuitively be considered immoral, otherwise, in the above dilemma.

Just like me, that's your "opinion"
