Howdy everyone!

Let's play a game.

I call it "Am I going to Hell?"

Essentially, you create a person. You name them, you describe them, you give them strengths, and flaws. You name it.

Then, a Christian has to analyze your character, and based on the description provided, decide whether or not he is going to Heaven or Hell.

I'll start!

Hello! I'm Nikola Turing

Here's a little about me...
-I am a man
-I attend a Christian Methodist church regularly
-I work as a scientist
-I repent for my sins, but I do not consider my sexuality a sin.
-I am a homosexual
-I believe in evolution
-I give to the poor about as much as most people
-I do not break the law.
-I am a gun owner.
-I have adopted numerous children, and raised them in a healthy household with my husband

Going to hell because she needs to give more to the church.

I never said how much was given to the church.

Also, is not giving to the church really the reason you want to go with to say that this guy is going to hell?

For both of your analogies, either the characters heart has been regenerated and thus be saved to go to heaven with GOD or if there is no regeneration in the heart then hell/God's wrath abounds on them.

It doesn't matter so much what good or bad works you do. Its ultimately the intention as to why its done... Anyone can do good and go to Church, but does that really mean that they're really a Christian? No. Anyone can do bad and go to Church does that mean that they're not a Christian? No. Intentions, motives, the heart of the matter. You can tell what is in a person's heart from direct analysis of everything they do, how they do it, what they say, how they say it, why they say it, body-language and definitely the eyes...

Going to church won't gain anyone a millisecond of Heaven. Giving to the poor won't gain anyone a millisecond of Heaven.
It's not about being good. It's about repenting of your sins, humbling yourself before a righteous God, and asking His Son to save you of your sin.
Even if you have homosexual desires, as long as you're trying to repent and turn from your ways, then you are saved by the grace of God, even if you fall at times. However, being actively homosexual shows that you are not repentant of your sin and that you're not even trying to overcome it.

But then again, I cannot answer this question. Only God knows the answer.
