Depends what your engineering. Humans, animals, plants, viruses, insects?

Im pro-genetic engeneering in order to achieve any product. I'm also pro genetic therapy on humans to heal genetic illness, cancer, etc. But I'm against genetic engeneering of livestock and agriculture, because currently we have no way of preventing transgenic animals or plants from contaminating nearby ecosystems.

I'm pro-genetic engineering in different places. Genetic engineering is the process of manually adding new DNA to an organism. The goal is to add one or more new traits that are not already found in that organism. By this definition, giving humans the trait of limb regeneration is awesome. Giving crops an active gene to be cold tolerant could benefit humans in cold places. Or genetically modify chickens to lay 12 eggs at once.

But what if someone genetically engineered a virus to destroy the brain and be immune to everything, or to attack cancer cells.

This is a small uneducated list because I'm too lazy to research genetic engineering at 3 in the morning.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?"

I think if done right, eugenics through genetic engineering would be the greatest advancement in human history. It would bring about a new age.

Depends on what you mean by genetic engineering...
