Epigenetics, what is it?

And does it prove that life begins at birth> I was presented with this concept and I would like to know what it is.

I'll see if I can answer this. Epigenetics is the study of cellular and physiological trait variations that AREN'T caused by changes in DNA. One example is cellular differentiation (Stem cells becoming neurons, muscles, cardiac cells, etc....).

I'm sure some of the findings from this kind of inquiry will yield an argument for life beginning at birth. However, there will likely be findings that will yield arguments in the contrary.

It provides no more or less reason than regular genetics.

From my understanding, it's the regulation of gene expression through methylation.
