I have been studying different views of epistemology lately. Most recently I have been focusing on the skeptics. Can I just say that I have lost all confidence in what I think I know....

What did you think you knew up to that point of studying other people's point of view?

The only thing I know is that what I know is probably wrong.

Have you considered evidentialism or phenomenal conservativism.

PC: If it seems to S that P, then, in the absence of defeaters, S thereby has at least some justification for believing that P

EVI: Person S is justified in believing proposition p at time t if and only if S"s evidence for p at t supports believing p.

I personally count as evidence roughly everything that comes to mind the moment you think about it.
Should S believe there to be a monitor in front of her?
PC: S thinks about it. It seems to her as if there is a monitor in front of her and she is not aware of any drugs etc. that could have defeated this appearance, therefore she is at least somewhat justified in this belief.
EVI: S has sense perception of something like a monitor. S checks her set of beliefs and finds nothing conflicting with p. p is therefore coherent with her original set of beliefs and further counts as evidence for the reliability of her senses.

In this case both seem somewhat similar.
Btw. I am considering moral realism (objective morality) again. Perhaps philosophy is not entirely destructive after all ;)

It was Rene Descartes who said that to doubt, is to think, and therefore to prove you exist because someone must be doing the doubting.

Cogito ergo sum -- the beginning of all epistemology.
