i try to present Aristotle's rhetoric as told by him. if anyone benefited i will be happy.

According to Aristotle we should draw premises from the subject regarding what is possible and impossible and state the advantage and disadvantage of premises. The entire process will look like the above mentioned diagram. This drawing of premises is called invention or inventio. In the above figure the possible and impossible belong to the common topic while the advantage and disadvantage belong to the deliberative oratory.

Possible or impossible are: opposites, cause-effect, whole-part, any other connection.

So let"s apply the process of Aristotelian rhetoric to any present day topic or subject and put the element of process together: the subject of this discussion is pre marital sex.

The question before the deliberative orator is whether premarital sex is good or not?

The subject is pre marital sex.

The premises regarding what is possible drawn from subject:
A] Consequences
1] One can conceive kids
2] One can have disease

B] Cause
1] Love
2] Other interest

C ] natural
1] One could marry
2] The bonding would be strong
3] One will know the compatibility

The premises regarding what is impossible drawn from subject:

A] Consequence
1] Legal claim on property
2] Maintenance claim
3] Domestic violence procedure
4] Divorce procedure

B] Cause
1] Hatred
2] Vengeance

So let"s see the advantage and disadvantage of our premises.

Pre marital sex has some possibility. Let"s assess them one by one. As a consequence one can conceive kids. The advantage of it will be that there will be no problem of impotency which is always the marriage breaker. The disadvantage is that if the relationship breaks up , the child will be illegitimate.

As a consequence of pre marital sex one might have sexual disease. This would be very bad for the one who might have it. Some STD can take your life. This is disadvange one has about such thing.

Pre marital sex can be caused by love. The advantage of it is that the result may be marriage. The disadvantage is that the result may be break up. This could be painful.

The subject can be caused by some other interest. This is harmful for any one party. But it is advantageous to other.

The natural consequence of the subject is marriage. Advantage is that the understanding is strong. The bonding will be strong between them which are advantageous to both. Both of them will know the compatibility. The advantage of it is that if relationship breaks up, it will be easier to find the next one.

What is impossible in the subject? The legal bond. There is no legal claim over property, no maintenance claim, no divorce problem. This is very advantageous to the man because he suffers more in such cases.

Such kind of sex is not caused by hatred or vengeance. This is also advantageous for either party.

The only salient issue regarding premarital sex is who will be most affected by the pregnancy if it occurs.

STD's is an issue whether your sex is premarital or postmarital. Different topic under STD's.

If the two people indulging in the premarital sex are prepared to do something either on their own or together when/if there is a pregnancy, then it seems like premarital sex is ok.

Religiously/doctrinally speaking, the Pope In Rome would disagree of course, for religious and doctrinal reasons, because His Holiness and also Jesus Whom He represents both believe that a child deserves a male father and a female mother.

Thus one of the outcomes of premarital sex is single motherhood, which is a bad thing according to the Pope.

If Susie does not mind giving up the baby, then premarital sex is ok too. There are lots of childless couples looking for babies to adopt.

If Susie plans to get an abortion, this is murder according to the Pope.

If Johnnie has a job and can support and marry Susie, then premarital sex is ok as long as they get married and start a family and raise their child together. This is the classic politically correct answer from back in the 1940's and 1950's. Maybe even the early 1960's before the Hippies started having free love and free sex with each other to protest the Viet Nam draft and war.

If Johnnie and Susie are not old enough to get married, or he does not have a job, then premarital sex can only be right if Susie gives up the kid to adoption.

Aristotle has got nothing to do with it.
