Eggs have existed since the cambrian period (500-700 ma). Chickens only started to exist since the evolution of birds (150-65 ma), obviously eggs came before chickens.

The first actual chicken hatched from an egg laid by a bird that was still one mutation away from being a chicken.

I do not know why it subsequently crossed the road.

Nice reasoning, now just name one example of a scientist ever observing something besides a chicken laying an egg that a chicken came from. Oh yeh, you can't.
Someone had to lay the egg/

Someone had to hatch the chicken...
That's right, and based on all known observation only chickens lay chicken eggs, hence that's why the word egg is modified by the word chicken. The actual answer to this question would be, "what kind of egg", which would give the answer because the question doesn't specify, it could be a turtle egg, ostrich egg, etc...

Now this is proper reasoning based on there not being a specified type of egg in the question. But you first need to ascertain what kind of egg. If it's being implied that it is the egg the said chicken came from, then you have a problem.

According to current evolutionary theory, it would have been the egg.

Chickens evolved from a prior specie of bird that was not a chicken, but that specie did in fact lay eggs and at some point in time a pair of these non-chicken birds laid and fertilized an egg which was mutated just enough that it was no longer of the parent specie, it was in fact, the first chicken. By our naming conventions, because a chicken is what hatched from the egg, it was a chicken egg.

So there you go, riddle solved, according to evolutionary theory the bird that laid the first chicken egg was not a chicken, so the egg came first, then came the chicken,

a) I already posted that.
but far more importantly,
b) 'specie' is another word for a coin. It is not the singular of species.

The egg because there had to be a certain point in the evolution timeline where the spawn of that T-Rex egg was officially considered a chicken.

I am not going into that because it will lead no where. It is near impossible anyone on this site, or anyone in general, will be able to convince you that evolution is true at your age.

The scientific community already had. You'd be hard-pressed to find a reputable scientific organization nowadays that doesn't endorse evolution.

God could have easily made the illusion that the egg came first but it makes more sense to man to believe he made the illusion of a horny male chicken first waiting for a seductive female chicken to enter the world.

And now you're drawing unreasonable inferences from what I said. There is a difference between what I "can" do and what I have the enthusiasm to do. Until then, I am willing to send you some links that prove my point for me, so I don't have to spend my time reiterating an argument that's already been debated and settled.

Why not just say that you read it in a book? Creationists seem to think that is good evidence.

So you actually saw Washington, George that is, cross the Delaware?...oh wait. We all read that in a book. Great argument though if this were 5th grade.
Did Paul Revere ride a horse yelling the British are coming.....the British are...nvm. I keep forgetting you have it on video. What kind of horse was it?
How about Israel Bissell? Was he on a horse or was it a horse and buggy? After all he actually rode for over 300 miles doing the same thing that Paul did for about 25 miles, or so they say in a book. Guess by your reasoning its just something in a book. Don't answer, I don't want to hear the "it's what is said in the book", I.e. if you already don't believe it, it isn't true.
