Every action taken by man is motivated by love. Every choice we make can be traced back to love. Love of self, love of other or things and even love of feelings, both emotional and qualia are at the heart of everything we do.

Except for psychopaths. They apparently don't have the capacity to love. So who is this we?
And in some Martian cultures love doesn't exist, except when they're on Mars.

Really? Well I don't know much about Martian cultures and psychopaths may not feel compassion and empathy, but they certainly do what they love to do. In fact they are more true to their passions than others because they do not fear the consequences.

suicide out of depression or self hate, where do you see love there?

you are essentially taking a stance of psychological hedonism

and what is your definition of love?

The examples you stated are too broad. There are many reasons people commit suicide or self hate. People could be depressed or hate themselves for disappointing loved ones. For losing something they love or being betrayed by someone they love. Suicide is a last resort but to understand why we need to know the underlying reasons.

So you admit your initial statement was wrong?

Either love is the motivation to every action we take, or it is not. You can't have it both ways.

I don't see the contradiction. It's all well and good to say you do something because you hate yourself but the underlying reason for hating yourself always boils down to love.

So no. My initial statement stands unless you can show me one action which is not motivated by love.

Unconscious actions too? And when people interact with each other, could their loves conflict in a way that could cause one person to do something that wasn't motivated by love?
