Do you believe that the following quote has any credibility? Why or why not?

"Happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know."

It's a riff on 'ignorance is bliss'!

As a horrible generalisation, intelligent people can't help themselves from taking the future into account and tend to be cautiously pessimistic rather than wildy optimistic about that future.
Again over generalising and simplifying, intelligent people manifest a narrower range of emotion because the uncertain future reduces the significance of the present moment.

At least that is how it seems to me.... Perhaps someone who is actually intelligent would give a better answer!
