If there is a simulator, with our reasoning and perception in their control, giving them complete creative freedom, like in a dream where you don't have to follow any rules, including logic, (but maybe you like to make it seem like you follow rules) where would a simulator hide convincing clues about things they want people to know, in general?

It looks like they would show the truth if they wanted everyone to know, but maybe they don't want everyone to know just yet or maybe they're doing something clever and tricky that we haven't thought of, to be impressive.

This is a fallacy of omniscience. You couldn't possibly know all the things this simulator wants you to actually know without having all knowledge of such things.

Yeah, orchestrating this existence isn't impressive in of itself......lol
