So hypothetically, do you think that a democratic government would be more efficient if there were no re-elections? No consecutive terms allowed?
Plusses I can see:
1) Every politician enters office with a voter mandate.
2) Immunity to campaign bribery from special interests while in office.
3) Concerted effort to leave a legacy in the short time allotted.
I am sure there are negatives, but would they shift more that way?
I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations.
