Because they hold nothing to be solid or stable, in their mind everything is subject to change in whatever way they feel is best for themselves and society. Unfortunately this disregard for definitions leaves everything with a cheap feeling, as if nothing is special and nothing truly means anything.

They want change at full speed, change at all costs, change at all times and have no concept of the phrase "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

This is going back to that marriage thing, isn't it? You know marriage has been defined along ethnic boundaries as well. Marriage is between a white man and a white woman, how dare you try and change it!

You give citations like a Fox News anchor.

The only definitions of importance in regards to the Constitution are the definitions the Supreme Court use in their rulings. You philisophical stance is therefore merely rhetorical.

So the supreme court can overturn the first amendment by claiming the word "no", actually means "any", where it reads, "congress may make no law..."?

If your question is why do liberals not think that definitions are important in the context of having a discussion; the answer is that, liberals as a group don't (not care), idiots do (not care).
However, if the question means that they don't think that they don't agree on a past definition, or a definition from some other "authority", then that is there call. No-one has a monopoly on language, but we should make the effort to understand each other.
