I'm curious, what exactly is the problem with having some sort of way to electronically verify that someone applying for a job is who they say he/she says he/she is?

It's not like having to show ID for voting or other one-time events where it is a substantial transaction cost for producing/owning ID.

I just think that heaps of people have a phobia in regards to everything electronic; in that because they think it's all tremendously complicated, and they think that it is impossible for them to understand how it works, they just don't want to be a part of it.

Kind of like people buying computers. It's so amazingly easy to build a computer, but people are just scared of electronics.
