Anyone know who's going to play Joker? Mighty big shoes to fill.

Nevermind: "Nolan confirmed the Joker would not return in the third film, and dismissed rumors that he considered using unused footage of Heath Ledger from The Dark Knight"

Some arguments in favour; he is a wealthy entrepreneur, he works outside of the government and occasionally his foe is the government, the comics have many examples of private industry being superior to state provided services, and also Batman clearly supports individualism in his vigilante actions.
One of Batman's core values is liberty, and he is distrustful of government
(one example that I just saw someone post on facebook; https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net... )

Frank Miller's interpretation (widely praised by critics and fans alike) practically makes Batman an anarcho-capitalist.

Any thoughts?

Batman represents the suppressed dreams of 30 year old men living in their mother's basement, if we mean the comic.
Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach him how to be Gay, he'll positively influence the GDP.

I always thought Superman represented the fight against the tyranny of wearing pants over your underwear...

Coincidence? I think not.

Silly Thaddeus. Obama can't be batman. If batman was black he wouldn't need the batsuit cause no one would see him in the dark anyway. :X That was really bad. I really shouldn't post this. I have a really offensive sense of humor....

If Obama were Batman, Robin would always be carrying a teleprompter. Hence, not possible.

Whilst he is the man dressed like a bat, he has very few lines. Mostly saying things which sound vaguely threatening in his best impression of a guy dying of lung cancer.

I see your point. the lung cancer is consistent with Obama's smoking.
