So I saw this guy on TV. He took over a failing company, closed down some of the company's plants(resulting in lay-offs), and lowered wages for all the remaining workers.

True, this company is now turning a profit, but what a vulture! He should have just taken a cut in pay himself instead of lowering wages. He should have found a way to keep those other plants open.

The above is the story of the auto-bailout.

Is it just me or can you just look at the man and see the deception and greed in his eyes? He has a lot of charisma, granted, but it doesn't hide his vice. At least not to me. I suppose that we have been so trained to be greedy ourselves that there is little function for this sense anymore. In essence, we are getting what we deserve (-_q)

No it's not just you. I pride myself on my instincts and gut hunch says he's a scumbag.

Honestly, I don't. I think he can be hard, but that's a good trait in someone who has to make tough decisions and handle difficult negotiations.

He worked for a company whose sole purpose was to make corporations profitable. He made the corporation profitable.

Your problem with this is what?

I think Jaxson was either sarcastic and/or trolling.

If you kept reading, I was actually talking about Obama. People criticize Mitt for doing something, but if Obama does the exact same thing he is a Savior.

It's an incredible immoral thing to do, but, Usurpma's lies about his own life, qualifications, and more importantly, his ridiculous petty failures and petty excuses.

As a famous bumper sticker says:

"Obama spoke, now we're broke!"

We can't afford 4 more years of this out of control presidency. He has performed poorly in every area. He makes Bush sound like a breath of fresh air.

Ah. Should have realized that was what you were refering. That still seems like a very big difference. Are you saying that every company which Romney was involved in was on the brink of collapse and his involvement saved the jobs of everyone working for those companies? That is an argument I have never heard before, not even in my time watching Fox news.

No, but Bain's specialty was turning around failing companies. For instance, the GSI steel mill that Obama has been attacking was set to be closed down if Armco couldn't find a buyer. There are others that were seriously considering bankruptcy, but I don't remember which off the top of my head.

It just hit me one day how funny it is for someone to simultaneously say Romney is bad for buying out a company with debt and laying people off, but Obama is the savior of the auto industry, which was essentially the same thing.
