From the article:

Speaking at the North Georgia Technical College auditorium, Broun said that the "socialistic elite," as well as Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, were planning to exploit a crisis to create a favorable climate for their stalling political agenda.

"They're trying to develop an environment where they can take over," he said. "We've seen that historically."

Broun's warning arrives on the back of a letter sent by The National Governors Association to the Pentagon last week, which condemns the military's plans to usurp domestic control of National Guard and federal forces deployed in the event of a natural disaster or terrorist attack.

In December 2008 it was announced that at least 20,000 more active duty soldiers will be placed inside the United States under Northcom to "help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack or other domestic catastrophe."

"Domestic emergency deployment may be "just the first example of a series of expansions in presidential and military authority," or even an increase in domestic surveillance, warned Anna Christensen of the ACLU's National Security Project. And Cato Vice President Gene Healy warned of "a creeping militarization" of homeland security."

Sounds less like politics and more like news.

I wonder why I have not heard about this.

Weird. I somehow thought natural disasters and domestic emergencies, something akin to Hurricane Katrina or the various fires that burn in the western part of the continent, did exist!

But, because they clearly don't, and there is no such thing as domestic emergencies, as well as a complete pull out from another invaded nation, this is clearly a plan of the "socialist elite" to take over. How could no one ever, ever see this before?

I see nothing wrong with either of these things, except for Broun sounding like a paranoid nut of course. Other than that, This would only happen during another tragic event or natural disaster of some sort, which might actually be welcomed. FEMA didn't do so well when Hurricane Katrina came around and there were even civilians taking arms against each other to protect themselves from looters.

FEMA did fine before George Bush destroyed it, rammed it into his Department of Homeland Security and put a loyal, incompetent friend in charge of it but assured us 'Brownie' was "doing a fine job."

Where were all these conspiracy theories when Bush was wire-tapping your phones?

Your freaking out because were in an economic crisis and could be taken advantage of. The only people who will do that are corporations who are desperate for a buck.

No, Volkov...
The government is manipulating the weather via their station in Alaska. They are planning a super-duper secret "natural" disaster - at which time they can take over power of the country. Never mind that they are already in power. Don't let silly things like the facts get in the way of a good story!

If you saw what his sources were (Alex Jones), then you might understand why you have not heard of this.

From Alex Jones' own website:

"... Internationally recognized veteran broadcaster, documentary filmmaker, and investigative journalist Alex Jones has been featured as a prominent figure of the 9/11 Truth Movement in such publications as The New York Times, Vanity Fair, and Popular Mechanics. ..."

Oh, was not paying too much attention.

I've heard about Alex Jones on another forum. I haven't seen his stuff directly, but I'm told it's pretty bad and pretty low quality, so I'm not particularly interested anyways. And since everyone else on here thinks so too, I think I'll just dismiss what I thought initially about the articles.
