I would even go so far as calling him the 3rd worst president of all time, behind Woodrow Wilson and Harry S Truman, of course.

FDR was so much worse than George W. Bush.

I thought Harry S Truman was a fine president. He desegregated the military, introduced single payer health insurance (although it failed), raised the minimum wage (I'm split on that though), increased infrastructure spending, successfully presided over the Berlin Airlift operation, ended many price/ wage controls, expanded the GI Bill, the Marshall plan for Europe, helped WW2 nations transfer to peaceful prosperous economies, etc.

I also forgot — he saved Greece from Communism, and the Truman Doctrine with containment successfully set the path for victory 40 years later.

the incentive large-scale democracy creates especially in this day in age kind of ensures that the probability of having a good president is low.

History teachers would teach about his leadership during WWII, which was admirable. However, that is clearly overshadowed by his tyrannical economic policy.

FDR's policies extended the depression.

Some estimates say he extended the depression by seven years -- almost a decade -- because of the new deal failures.

History teachers would teach about his leadership during WWII, which was admirable :However, that is clearly overshadowed by his tyrannical economic policy.

His economic policy, which included wage/ price controls and higher taxes on the wealthy, basically redistributed wealth indirectly, and caused a compression in income inequality. Hopefully we won't have to return to wage/price controls again. Even Paul Krugman agrees with me on that point.

1.) Some white dudes decide they want all the land coast to coast.
2.) The current occupiers don't exactly like that and fight back against the aggressors.
3.) White dudes take that as an excuse to massacre the lot of 'em.

Not really war, more like (new) Americans taking Native American land and proceeding to massacre them in what could almost be described as genocide. Oh but they fought back so that makes the entire enterprise justified apparently.

I'd love to see *any* economist make good justification for the bolded. Price and wage controls just means shortages and surpluses which is bad for consumers and producers.Where has Paul Krugman made arguments favoring wage/price control and what were his justifications?

Prevented bloodshed between the Georgian farmers and the Native Americans. It didn't go over as smoothly as he imagined but boohoo. Besides that pales in comparison to his other achievements.
- Eliminated the debt
- Killed the national bank
- Stood up to judicial tyranny
- Defeated the British at New Orleans (prior to presidency)
- Increased voter participation

I loved the man as president.

Andrew Jackson is not a good president for a few reasons:

1. The dramatic expansion of executive power beyond what the founders had intended
2. The overly belligerent response to South Carolina' nullification of increased federal tariffs and threatened secession from the union
3. The harsh treatment of Native Americans

Although it was awesome that he opposed the recharter of the Second Bank of the United States, he probably did so for the wrong reasons and acted unconstitutionally while doing so.

Lol. We have a local Adam Sandler here; have you ever thought about doing stand up comedy?

Ex. "FDR was an amazing president." *Audience proceeds to laugh for an hour*

Not if the audience is primarily made up of US history teachers.

I'd love to see *any* economist make good justification for the bolded. Price and wage controls just means shortages and surpluses which is bad for consumers and producers.Where has Paul Krugman made arguments favoring wage/price control and what were his justifications?

He hasn't, he has said that it led to less income inequality though in one of his books.
"The solution [for Republicans] is to admit that Bush was a bad president, stop this racist homophobic stuff, stop trying to give most of the tax cuts to the rich, propose a real alternative to Obamacare that actually works, and propose smart free market solutions to our economic problems." - Distraff

"Americans are better off in a dynamic, free-enterprise-based economy that fosters economic growth, opportunity and upward mobility." - Paul Ryan

What would you know about being President let alone judge one. They all sucked and will continue to suck. They are humans.

1. Why isn't Andrew Lucifer Jackson on there?
He's my favorite president.

The forceful moving of Native Americans?

Prevented bloodshed between the Georgian farmers and the Native Americans. It didn't go over as smoothly as he imagined but boohoo. Besides that pales in comparison to his other achievements.
- Eliminated the debt
- Killed the national bank
- Stood up to judicial tyranny
- Defeated the British at New Orleans (prior to presidency)
- Increased voter participation

I loved the man as president.

2. Why is FDR on there?

Because he was a huge founder of the Welfare State.

Either way, I hate that.

Oops I genocided

False. Genocide is the systematic and purposeful killing of a single race. He only wanted to move them, not kill them all.
