Liberals fought for civil rights, conservatives fought against them. I don't really see how anyone can refute that. Democrats and Republicans are not synonymous with liberals and conservatives.

Also this is obviously trying manipulate blacks by using the very victim hood mentality that it claims to be combating. The fact that he uses so much slave imagery, referring to the Democratic party as a plantation and Democratic blacks as slaves, is cheap and offensive.

Seriously though, it's the same thing that goes on between elitist liberals and working class conservatives- the elitists claim they want to help, and maybe they do, by they usually just belittle the working class because they see them as pawns of the Republican party.

Right because, Republican and conservatives want African-Americans have to have jobs and more success and less taxes.

We definitely need less taxes, especially because taxes only equal about 14% of GDP and spending is about 23% of GDP. Even though we are the lowest in the industrialized world basically when it comes to individual taxes.

Tax cuts are not miraculous. We can use the revenues in good areas, like reducing the deficit, investing in equal opportunity, and health care.

I think it has more to do with convincing blacks that the liberal progressives who fought for their rights are now their new oppressors, and the conservative traditionalists who resisted their rights are now their saviors.

I understand their point about victim hood mentality keeping blacks dependent on the state, and I think that that has got to change, but it is just so insincere and hypocritical of them to claim that Democrats are trying to keep blacks down so that they can continue to be their 'saviors'. Whether the efforts of Democrats and/or liberal progressives to help blacks has been successful or not, it has certainly been well intentioned.
