Massachusetts taxpayers had to pay for a murderer in prison to get a sex change cause he had a gender identity crisis.

In the UK sex changes are 100% covered by the state as part of the National Health Service, a purely tax funded model of healthcare. Sex-Gender alignment surgery is a medical, not cosmetic, affair apparently. Get used to it, my bet is that 10 years from now it will be enforced to all states by federal government as a civil right to Transexuals and the like.

Thankfully, the British Healthcare model only has about 20 years of life in it so it should be gone by then. People who perceive to be another sex can pay to be however they want to be.

On the murder point, did you know the European Court of Human Rights ruled that prisoners should be given free suffrage (they can already get sx changes here)? The United Kingdom's legislative voted against it but by ECoHR law we don't have that right, prisoners rights in the UK are to be ruled by unelected technocrat judges from a foreign land.

Absolute BS. No sentence of that rambling is true. Of the tens of thousands of people who have a sex change a year, around a hundred are done by the NHS. Of those, the large majority are done through private funding, not taxpayer's money. Of the ones that are funded by the taxpayer's money, they cover hormone replacement, which is essentially a prescription of oestrogen or testosterone, one of the easiest things to possibly get hold of.

Secondly, gender dysphoria is, and has been for decades, a genuine medical condition (http://www.nhs.uk...) That does not make it yellow fever combined with your arms falling off in terms of the danger, but the major point is that it is very well recognised as a serious medical condition which is out there.

Thirdly, even if we start pretending that this case gets the treatment (which it hasn't as of yet, and certainly won't), there's still no reason to imagine this getting rolled out as a right. Healthcare covers the cost, as it has and always has done, and its extension from your position is based on just misconstruing facts towards fitting a worldview.

Fourthly, the statement about the NHS disintegrating makes no sense regarding any of the evidence, regarding any of the facts, regarding any of the opinions surrounding it and regarding where it is in the political spotlight. Massive protests are going on just about the NHS selling some of the beds when they're not in use: there will not be any major disintegration any time soon.

The final statement is, truth be told, correct, though. People who want the sex change operations can pay for it. That's because, short of kidnapping surgeons to do it to you, that is the only way of getting the surgery itself.

@Zetsobu

You are out of your mind if you think I or anyone else think it's ok to spend our money on a murderous prisoner. His health was NOT in danger whether it's classified cosmetic or not.
