Apparently Politifact has actually been keeping tabs on just about all of Obama's campaign promises to see if they have been passed, compromised, broken, etc.

http://www.politifact.com...

Here is a visual image of how he is doing though, and you conclude whatever you want from it I only want to point out that Obama has been getting his a** kicked on tax reform and workers benefits....

Normally, I'd go into a long post about how this is a horrible (and horribly common) broad brushing fallacy, but I'm just gonna assume that you know and you're just trying to make a bumper sticker comment that stands out, but isn't factually accurate.

Whats the methodology? How do they determine what is a "promise" and how it is fulfilled? Curious how he ranks compared to other presidents.

Not sure what the methodology is, but I'm gonna bet that it is better than most pundits that cherry pick 5 promises that were either all kept or all broken in order to make Obama look like how they want him to look.

Basically there are 6 criteria for promises. Kept, Compromised, In the works, stalled, broken, and not yet rated. They crunch some numbers and in my opinion get it right, and if they miss the mark a little with the grade, it wouldnt be off by much.

I could elaborate on what each one means though if you want...

Curious how he ranks compared to other presidents.

^ THAT, would be interesting. I dont think they have a scorecard for Bush though because Politifact hasnt been around too long

I think he is asking how they define a "promise" not how they determine if it was kept or broken.

It's always fascinating to compare just Obama himself to the GOP (Jan '10-present).

Obama has kept 190 promises. GOP? 11.
Obama has compromised on his promises 72 times. GOP? 4.

But where is the line of what is a "promise" and what is "not," is there any particular wording that needs to be said for it to count or not count? Do certain outlets not count or anything?

Well it's not that government efficiency is impossible per se, just relative to the private sector (which is to say the competitive and voluntary sector as opposed to the monopolized and coercive sector). Government, being a monopoly, usually tends to be less efficient than if it were subject to competition. We should all be able to agree on that.

Um....why? And even assuming that the president should have 18 times the GOP responsibility, every percentage goes in Obama's favor.

The link says that he's basically given up on it.

"The president hasn't spoken about the issue in media interviews, public speeches or written statements to Congress, though Attorney General Eric Holder expressed support for the bill in a speech late last year."

If he's given up, then it is kinda broken.

Your thoughts?

I actually think that's an amazing scorecard. Especially when you consider the blockade he faced in Congress, the huge pile of sh!t Bush left, and the small amount of time he had. Anyone who thought he could keep every promise he made was unrealistic. It looks like there really aren't many things that he promised that he didn't even address.

Obama kept 190/506 rated promises, or 37%
GOP kept 11/40 rated promises, or 28%

Not that far off, your stupid measure is just so stupidly stupid I can't even fathom how you think it means anything

Then you have to look at the GOP promises too. All of the GOP plans blocked by the D congress are counted as 'promise broken'.

Their system sucks, and they are biased to the left.

Someone needs to make a better fact-check.
