Biden's speech was decent apart from some of the problems with the delivery, but wow, the president knocked it out of the park again.

His speech was not far left, it was conciliatory to some of the arguments from the GOP, explicitly saying that financial success was something to be celebrated, appealing to the center, appealing to bipartisanship, appealing to humility, appealing to realism and denouncing cynicism, while defending his record on the economy, defending his record on foreign policy, siding with women on their own rightful corporal autonomy, AND managing to provoke the same moving vision he inspired in 2008, keeping eyes on the horizon and moving forward.

Incredible.

I really liked Biden's. I thought it was on par with Obama. Obama's was essentially his '08 DNC speech with a strong presidential overtone that portrayed maturity and resolve more than candidate Obama's 'magic' and excitement.

Slick Willy's is still the best in my opinion. Michelle's was great, too.

DNC far surpassed the RNC by every measure other than deluded rants at invisible people.

1. Obama has fulfilled the majority of his promises. It's a more than fair record if you actually bothered to look it up.

2. The inefficiency of this term was brought about by an incompetent legislature called congress....who's Republican leaders made it their #1 priority to obstruct the president.

3. Saying "amirite" makes you sound dumber than usual.

Such as? The economy is still crap, the unemployment rate is still very high, alternative energy investments are crap, etc....

The President's success ultimately resides in A) Convincing Congress to pass legislation and if A fails then B) using his own power to attempt to pass legislation. He has done B) periodically, while failing to do A). Democratic presidents are capable of bipartisanship, such as Clinton- it's just that Obama has been on the ideological rather than pragmatist side.

It's a sarcastic juxtaposition between your view and reality.

I'm glad he fulfilled his promise of removing the debt.

Oh, technically he didn't promise it. He just calls anybody who does that irresponsible or unpatriotic.

Would it be racist to say that Obama probably loves fried chicken and KFC almost as much as Koopin does? If not, would it make a different that the comment was based 100% off of Obama's skin color?

Any liberal who is not disillusioned with Obama at this point is either unaware of his social, fiscal, and foreign policies, or is lying to themselves. It's as simple as that. Unless they were perfectly happy during the Bush years. There are few practical, non-trivial differences between the policies of Bush and Obama. That's the straight truth. We've got a 1 party system here in America, owned by powerful financial interests. I'm not the conspiracy type but it's painfully obvious, and anyone who denies it is either ignorant or too biased toward one side (though they are in reality mostly the same side) to realize it.

This might be the most erroneous garbage you've ever vomited on this forum. Obama took this office with absolute bipartisanship (he appointed several Republicans to his cabinet). He was willing to give up so much to meet the GOP half way (+) that his own party complained that we was sacrificing too much. You have the senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell, actually saying EXPLICITLY that the Republican party's highest goal is make Obama a 1-term president.

Despite all of that, you come here with a straight face (or a troll face, really not sure) and call Obama more ideological than pragmatic? Don't you have any shame in being so damn dishonest?

Obama's wife is against KFC due to fat republicans enjoying life. We must assume Obama feels the same.
