Was the creation of Iraq by the British in 1921 a good thing?

No. Iraq has no cultural or ethnic identity. It is divided between the Kurds, Shiites, and many other aggressive groups. So is Jordan.

Not challenging you, merely curious - why, in your opinion, is a strong, unified cultural/ethnic identity a good thing? And do you think it's good or bad for a given country to have a lot of racial/ethnic diversity generally, or only under certain circumstances, etc?
