There is a very clear correlation between states with Democratic vs Republican Majorities and budget deficits, debt and surplus'
Illinois' credit being recently downgraded to the level of California made me thing of this.
States with Republican majorities by and large keep a more sound fiscal house.

I actually agree with you.

No doubt that Democrats are much more committed to sustaining the unsustainable, that is public sector pensions which are driving debt on the state and local level.

I agree. In my state the Republican governor turned around the billion dollar deficit, so now we have a balanced budget with a surplus, job creation is up and so is economic growth, and our competitiveness in the nation has went from the 49th best to the 7th best.
