^ Heres the story. North Korea had a nuclear test done recently (underground) and they say they plan to do more with much bigger bombs. North Korea claims that the next test they will run will involve an atomic bomb that has the strength of 10 Kilotons of TNT.

Now I had no idea how much 10 Kilotons was in respect to atomic bomb size, so I looked up the one the US dropped on Hiroshima during WWII as a comparison. "Little Boy" as it was called had the strength of 16 kilotons of TNT....

http://en.wikipedia.org...

I found this baffling because basically, US atomic bombs used in WWII 70 years ago are 1.6 times stronger then the nukes that North Korea hopes to detonate sometime in the future....

Just thought this was interesting to know

Figures. Everything in North Korea seems to be quite a bit smaller.

Actually, it even more difficult to produce nukes with a smaller yield, as compared to the yield comparable to that of US nukes. NK doesn't aim at producing a high yield nuke. Plus, a small nuke is dangerous, because then it can fitted inside a missile and shot off to far off locations (:. US, if the reports quoting North Korean authorities are to be believed).

North Korea can't do anything, it's fear mongering through and through. We're capable of retaliating within minutes of a hostile North Korean missile launch. Pyongyang would be leveled before a hypothetical rocket could get halfway to California.

They can't do much yet (although they could kill millions in South Korea if they wanted to). But obviously their technology is improving. And they're run by idiots. Don't assume that because X would lead to horrible consequences for NK, NK won't do X. A crazy homeless guy with a gun is still dangerous even if he's surrounded by policemen.

A couple of air planes into a couple of buildings shut down Manhattan for weeks. A 10 kiloton nuke.............................More than just a couple of buildings and unlivable for several years afterwords even if you wanted to rebuild. You could live there right away. The people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki proved without doubt that you can. But cancer rates would be high and you couldn't allow those who would choose to live there afterwords to sue or file medical claims for cancer related illnesses. They did it to themselves with full knowledge of the risks of living in an area contaminated with radiation. But at least we do know that an atomic bomb similar to those used in japan does not leave the area unlivable for ever. Millions live in the areas bombed in Japan. (Source) Don't need one, prove me wrong.
It's not your views that divide us, it's what you think my views should be that divides us.

If you think I will give up my rights and forsake social etiquette to make you "FEEL" better you are sadly mistaken

The breadth of application of this pithy remark is quite noteworthy -or maybe I just have quite the imagination.
