I misunderstood. I thought you were asking if I see a contradiction between the teachings of the Bible (or more specifically, Christ), and aspects of Marxism. I don't see a major contradiction. That being said, I do see a contradiction between evangelical Christians who align with Republican ideology. Take for example, their over whelming support of torture.

Doesn't the bible advocate a lot of things we find repulsive today?

Most Christians contradict themselves though, most people in Christianity are either moderate democrats or republicans, and neither group supports Communism. Technically the bible (the book they so heavily interpret, preach and live by) advocates Communism, so that is contradictory in itself.

Good point, lol

Communism is just an interesting one, because it directly contradicts the typical christian's ideology.

The 10th commandment basically destroys the foundation of capitalism (you shall not covet). Half of the reason capitalism works is because one person covets another's status and tries to reach that status.

LOL, Christian communism in itself is contradictory.

"Thou Shall not Steal"

When Communists have to confiscate private property, is that not stealing/theft in it's own rite? Lol, this just keeps getting better and better.

I think that you're confusing communism with Marxism, Stalinism, or Leninism.

Not necessarily, traditional Marxism is, not all forms, for example, Engels was fine with the Christian establishment.

Communism, the way Marx defined it was theistic specifically. Sometimes people will say that Jesus' commands to take care of the poor is a more progressive approach but Jesus never says the government should entice people to give, so instead we have charity.

In what sense is it voluntary if God will torture you for all eternity if you don't help the poor?

No. A true Christian should be a communist.

Kind of unrealistic and overly Utopian to achieve and sustain, but OK.
