Americans for Democratic Action have been measuring the ideology of politicians for decades. I'm sure most people here know that. Their data is available on there website:
http://www.adaction.org...

Also available is a short twenty question quiz to give you a Liberal Score. It asks you if you would have voted yea or nay on specific bills. Just go to the homepage and on the right there is a link under the map of the U.S.

I have a liberal score of 75. What does everyone else have?

I got a 15. Although, my answer to Question 7 probably didn't reflect my Liberalness properly, as my response was, "Nay, no more abortions."

Its funny how people these people who claim to be "liberal" support the Employee Free Choice Act, which is no more, no less, than simply allowing Union leaning employees to coerce others. As it stands now employees have free choice just as we do when we elect a politician.

Imagine if instead it was "voter free choice act" where the govt. demanded that everyone can see your vote.

Sorry for the rant.
I will take the test.

liberal is a funny word, though not as funny as "progressive"

No, Liberal means a liberal policy towards social freedom

Progressive means you're willing to respond to the changes in society.

Your Voting Record score is 25 out of a possible 100.
But my kid was distracting me... i'll have to take it again later... plus i need to read the whole bill before i would ever vote.

They say that they're planning on using the data to look at national trends.

I say thats silly because:
a) mostly liberals probly go to their site
b) the questions seemed not detailed & biased

It's like when Fox news has their txt in polls up on the screen and 90% of ppl agree that abortion is murder. It doesn't mean squat.

I think what you meant to say is "liberal" means supporting who support liberal (ie expansive) action to ensure social/financial EQUITY among peoples.

Liberty is a liberal policy toward social freedom

But when they believe 100% economic freedom is non-viable, we call it Liberalism.

What are "social freedoms", are they freedoms, or is it the idea that people have the right to be provided with some level of financial/social equity?

I'm for both, though I don't like the latter when it too much infringes upon the first.

your definition it would seem incorporates republicans and conservatives.

Economic freedom is the freedom to use your money how you please.

Social freedom is the freedom to spend your time how you please.

I think that's a pretty good summary right there, but I'm not sure.

Social freedom without economic freedom is the ability to have gay sex, only if they don't tax the money you would have spent on lube.

I'm all for letting people spend money how they please. What I'm against is a system in which the pressure is downward on poorer people, and upward on richer people, and results in a pathetic distribution of wealth.

Pressure is downward and upward? What pressure toward what? Without further enumeration you are talking about physical pressure which is nonsense here.

And the "Distribution of wealth" you regard as pathetic is the one that results from people spending (and making) their money as they please.
