I am challenging YOU to change you ideology for one week. That means displaying yourself as this ideology, actively promoting it, arguing for it and, most importantly, humoring it by entertaining positive thoughts about it.

I'd suggest picking one close but distinctly different. Where some fundamental idea must be changed but you could still hypothetically see yourself being.

If you can't see yourself anywhere else, well, I think that's a pretty sad personal issue.

I'll keep a list of participating people here. I'd love to see at least five.

Didn't someone try something like this a while back? I think it was Kleptin with his "DDO Masquerade" or something like that.

Would it just be restricted to this website? I'm pretty sure it would be.

You would have to promote this more or else I couldn't join. I would probably masquerade as a progressive.

I like it. It's actually quite informative and has a degree of truth to it. It's interesting to see how our enemies really think of us. Gives you a sense of perspective.

So I would have to act as a progressive liberal for a week. That would be pretty difficult.

I have enough political involvements that it would either confuse the other people or it would make them mock me. Probably both though. And usually I don't care for people mocking me.

And it is kind of hard for me to act different than who I really am.

It also throws all the negative and hypocritical ideas about religion and government out there that would be considered too offensive for news or discourse between people.

My ideology is self reliance and very limited govt, why would I want to change that?
It's not your views that divide us, it's what you think my views should be that divides us.

If you think I will give up my rights and forsake social etiquette to make you "FEEL" better you are sadly mistaken

If liberal democrats would just stop shooting people gun violence would drop by 90%

I'm becoming less defined as days go by, fading away, and well you might say, I'm losing focus, kinda drifting into the abstract in terms of how I see myself.

Why don't you go whole hog and try embracing-espousing the viewpoint of anarcho-communism for a week? Btw, you might be interested in this, http://www.debate.org...
Yo, all of my subliterate conservative criticasters who find perusing and processing the sesquipedalian verbiage of my posts to be such a bothersome brain-taxing chore, I have a new nickname for you. Henceforth you shall be known as Pooh Bears. No, not for the obvious apt reasons, i.e., not because you're full of pooh, and not because of your ursine irritability. Rather, you put me in mind of an A.A. Milne quote, "I am a Bear of Very Little Brain, and long words bother me". Love ya, Pooh Bears.

For all your rantings of human nature, you apparently have a lot to learn on how to just properly communicate with people.

Hmm, your unkind choice of the word "rantings" betrays your lack of objectivity as a judge of either my "rantings" or communication skills.

Btw, is it your standard assumption that anyone who refuses to play along with any of your gedankenexperiments, or your attempts to elicit "real human moments" suffers from personality issues? I must say that that rather presumes a lot, such as your entitlement to the self-confidence to form such judgments.

Go for anarcho-capitalist for a week. Watch these two videos, and you can pull it off:

BOOM! Charles, try being a Democratic Socialist. That's pretty close to your ideas, or if you really did change to AnComm, try Anarcho-Syndicalism.

1. What is my choice of the word "rantings" supposed imply?

2. Why do you assume that I mean what you think I mean?

3. Since I am no longer an objective judge, I suppose you'd be alright with retracting your cheers to the lone positive reception I give you on your threads.

4. That was actually some friendly criticism. And so is this. Stop taking yourself so seriously.

Okay, sorry FREEDO, for apparently hurting your feelings by critiquing your arargument that the little guy ought to own responsibility for the evils of history. Yes, pardon me for not uncritically going along with your effort to encourage people to engage political activism from an atomized and self-blaming place of "real human moments" of exaggerated personal accountability. Can we make up and be friendly again? If not, well, that's unfortunate but c'est la vie.
