Global warming scientists got trapped in Antarctic ice. They literally sat there and saw the ice thicken and watch their ship get frozen in place.

This is how deluded global warming alarmists are. They believe in global warming despite the fact that we experienced record low temps and expanded ice caps.

Warming is happening, the only thing left to debate is the cause. You can even argue warming has stopped, but to say it hasn't warmed is kinda dumb.

I agree that global warming is nonsense, but global climate change is not. There are noticeable differences between the world's climate over time -but I question whether carbon plays as big of a role as the prophets of global climate change say it does because there is a stronger correlation between the surface activity on the sun and the world's climate changing than with carbon levels.

Change is happening, not necessarily warming. 2013 was one of the coolest years on record, and 2013 had one of the lowest levels of natural disasters on record.

1900 - 1940 = warming
1940 - 1970 = cooling
1973 - 2000 = warming
2002 - present = cooling
1998 - present = slight cooling

I wrote a good post in the science section proving that. Under Slo's forum.

Yea, ok RINO. That's the difference between global warming alarmists and skeptics. One believes that warming is caused by the sun and the other believes it's increased CO2. There has been no warming in the past 15 years but a look at the long term chart shows a correlation with the suns temperature and not increased CO2.

That's the difference between global warming alarmists and skeptics. One believes that warming is caused by the sun and the other believes it's increased CO2. There has been no warming in the past 15 years but a look at the long term chart shows a correlation with the suns temperature and not increased CO2.

I said the cause was debatable. If you knew anything about me, I think a combination of factors caused global warming in the 20th century.

PDO and AMO cycles alone could explain much of the warming. However I think total solar irradience correlates with temperature very well (see Soon 2005), and that cosmic rays may be another modifier (see Svensmark 1997, Shaviv and Veiser 2003).

See, CO2 also causes temperature change. But the direct effect is very minimal, only positive feedbacks (mainly water vapor) could cause warming like we have seen if Co2 was the cause. However, Lindzen and Choi 2011 show CO2 probably has negative feedbacks. Therefore, CO2 cannot cause warming.

It has stopped warming since about 1997 and cooled since 2002, yes, correct. However, the long term trend since 1850 is warming. Anthropogenic warming is likely false, the fact is has warmed isn't.

Yea, ok RINO.

Politics have nothing to do with what's actually happening with the world's climate. Whether you're a republican or democrat, data is data.

That's the difference between global warming alarmists and skeptics.

Oh, you're an expert in global climate change rhetoric? Please, tell me where you got your Ph.D. Liberty University?

lol

It's specifically about surface activity on the sun, not the sun's temperature.

Since 1850, it has warmed.

Again, warming has stopped since the mid 1990s, but to say the world hasn't warmed is a failure to look at the datasets.

That would depend on which political party you were asking. The Tea Party's war on science is nothing new, though.

For the most part you and I agree, by the way.

I know.

I think paleoclimate is much more important than the last 150 years.

Right.

Yea, ok RINO.

What? Is it just me, or should science stuff really not be a matter of political party?

That would depend on which political party you were asking. The Tea Party's war on science is nothing new, though.

Change is happening, not necessarily warming. 2013 was one of the coolest years on record, and 2013 had one of the lowest levels of natural disasters on record.

1900 - 1940 = warming
1940 - 1970 = cooling
1973 - 2000 = warming
2002 - present = cooling
1998 - present = slight cooling
1997 - present = flat

Nope.

Granted, this data is only for the US though... http://www.standard.net...

What do you mean "nope"? http://en.wikipedia.org...

Since 1850, it has warmed.

Here is Dr Roy Spencers graph since 1970 using his UAH satellite GLOBAL data:
http://www.drroyspencer.com...
Another dataset:
http://www.woodfortrees.org...

Again, warming has stopped since the mid 1990s, but to say the world hasn't warmed is a failure to look at the datasets.

It depends on how far you go back. I'd be more interested in data that could tell me how the world's climate has shifted over the past 100,000 years rather than only those changes which have happened since 1850.

Cooled since 8,000 years ago.

The Independent published an article about sun activity and global climate change a while back. It had me sold. The CO2 prophets just don't have the evidence, and given that they don't have the evidence, they make it into something more like a religious cult than a scientific dialogue.

Politics have nothing to do with what's actually happening with the world's climate. Whether you're a republican or democrat, data is data.

Tell that to the Democrats. Republicans would rather leave global warming to the scientists (the real ones, not climategate frauds) but Dems have an agenda to pass Cap & Trade, carbon credit scheme, and global carbon tax. Not to mention shutting down entire industries they don't like and want to impose government mandated smart meters on people's houses.

Dems want it poltical, Republicans want the government out of it.

That's the difference between global warming alarmists and skeptics.

Oh, you're an expert in global climate change rhetoric? Please, tell me where you got your Ph.D. Liberty University?

Yep.

One believes that warming is caused by the sun and the other believes it's increased CO2. There has been no warming in the past 15 years but a look at the long term chart shows a correlation with the suns temperature and not increased CO2.

lol

It's specifically about surface activity on the sun, not the sun's temperature.

Splitting hairs. Point still stands.
