Alright, I feel its time to unleash a new wave of updates on the crisis in Ukraine.

Update 1: In a act of protest, McDonald has suspended operations in Crimea. They claim its due to manufacturing issues, but company leaders have been praised since the closing. Many politicians are calling for Mc Donald's to initiate a full closure in all of Russia.

The closing led to rioting with in the region.

http://www.upi.com...

Update 2: The Russian Communist party candidate has won the election of mayor in Russia's third largest city. Could this be a revival of the Soviet Union?

http://en.itar-tass.com...

Update 3: Pro Russians have seized the city of Donetsk in Eastern Ukraine. The next day, they declared independence from Ukraine, as the Donetsk People's Republic. The government ran one whole day, before finally surrendering. Unfortunately, they did not receive enough traction to justify Russia's old switch and take, demonstrated in Georgia and Moldova.

http://www.bbc.com...

http://www.irishtimes.com...

Update 4: Ukraine is gearing up for civil war. Militias have been formed between Pro Russians and Pro Ukrainians. The Russian Foreign Minister has warned one shot will ignite a war.

Undoubtedly, Russia will ally with the Pro Russian forces and recognize their independence, while keeping troops in their unrecognized territory for decades to come.

The Russian government has already said, that they will firmly stand against any military preparation on Ukraine's part, as it might incite war. Basically, they are telling Ukraine not to prepare for war so war doesn't happen? WTF?! This is a thinly veiled excuse to invade Ukraine if given the chance.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyways, the best thing we can do, is provide arms and tactical assistance to Ukraine. The west needs to send medical and intelligence support, and insure Ukraine has a fair chance at defending itself. The right path for Ukraine, is appeal to the EU for troops. And that is the weekly update with Jifpop09......

also another Ukrainian soldier was killed.

Honestly of I was In charge I would have responded after the first soldier was killed. This is unacceptable.

I actually could of added a couple updates on that, but it would take to much time.

Yep, apparently Ronald Mc. Donald has been named the supreme commander of NATO. Those minimum wage workers are going to war.

No, war is not yet the answer. Given what I just said about imminent civil war, and the evident weakness of Ukraine, provocation will only cause utter destruction. Their chances of winning this battle, is to fight on the defensive.

No, if there is an expansion of Russia, it will be based on Russian ethnicity as opposed to ideological commonality.

This is much better substantiated (and thus actually believable) compared to your prior posts. I will note that the underlined has zero substantiation. Yes, there are preparations for civil war, but the conclusions you reach seem unduly inflammatory.

As it is, IMHO what the West needs to do is to determine whether or not pro-Russian support is real. If it is (which is what I suspect), the West simply does not have a card to play other than realism and Western hegemony...in which case it's simply force-counterforce and nuclear war.

The EU will not intervene over this. Ukraine is not part of NATO. The Ukraine does not have a fair chance at defending itself without NATO support unless it resorts to terrorism.

You are guilty of fabricating propaganda here. There was no rioting in either the Ukraine or in Russia over this point. It would be ridiculous to think there would be.

Maybe rioting is the wrong word to use, and I never said Russia. There was definitely protests that engaged outside this mcdonalds restaurant though. They were not large scale, but as the source says, politicians were in protest.

Also, fabricating propaganda is a bit dramatic. I was not claiming a civil war would of started oven a big mac embargo

You said "within the region" which would of course include Russia.

It's not dramatic. It's accurate. You were indeed claiming rioting over a "big mac embargo". You're making a lot of assertions that are either extremely surprising given prevailing wisdom or are directly contradicted by a quick google search of the news, and the more of these kinds of assertions you make, the less believable you become.

http://images.smh.com.au...

That's quite a "riot". Pause not.

No, I agree. All the places they have expanded to have large Russian ethnic groups. This was unrelated to Ukraine though. I just find it scary that the party won such a large election.

What is wrong with making a prediction? I harm no one in doing so, and I truly believe it as a possibility, and not an assurance. 2 times can be a coincidence. 3 times the same, but 4 times is a pattern. And the patter justifies my conclusion.

As it is, IMHO what the West needs to do is to determine whether or not pro-Russian support is real. If it is (which is what I suspect), the West simply does not have a card to play other than realism and Western hegemony...in which case it's simply force-counterforce and nuclear war.
Agreed on the fact that the forces should not be classified as Pro-Russian. No sufficient proof exists that these militias are indeed supporting the Russian government or supplied by it. I think they are, but until then, they should be called revolutionaries/militants.

I would not rule it out as a possibility just yet though. The EU just voted to send a small army to the Congo. I'm sure Ukraine could appeal for 2000 soldiers to sweep the countryside. Again, no assurance though

Region, as in Crimea. I guess it depends on where we draw our borders.

Ok, riot was not a good word, but it definitely stirred something. I've done some reading on it and officials have been vocal about losing a valuable business.

People have been walking past it with signs though. That should count as some kind of civil disobedience.

Good Satire....

Anyways, I'm writing this post to add a update I forgot. Russia is running military exercises in Transinistria a.k.a Moldova. Europes pretty pissed at the moment and so am I.

While they're there most likely for Ukraine, its still spread fear that the conflict will spread across the border and into Moldova and Romania.

That coupled with the naval exercises off of Poland, and the build up near the border, further Russian intervention is not unlikely.
