There is actually a very interesting website called "balance the budget" which uses real data from the CBO.

You can adjust spending and taxes. It is amazing how much micromanaging you can do...what's that? You want to cut funding for the Federal Family Education Loan Program Account? No problem.

I've only sucessfully blanced the budget once without raising taxes, and it involved over a 50% spending cut in Social Security.

I got about an 850 billion dollar surplus, and that was probably underestimating some of the programs I would cut funds from, just because I left a few things alone when I wasn't clear what they did.

Unfortunately you can't cut taxes in this. If you could I would've cut them to zero and tried to guesstimate the amount various user fees would gather based on the costs of services that continue to be provided and maybe a profit margin, but there wasn't a lot of point otherwise. Obviously the profit margin would nowhere near approach that degree of surplus, that's Apple numbers.

Just in case I get into some BS with FREEDO again about how he's NOT a narcissist.

So... what's there to destroy evil inside of and above the constitutional government?

500,000,000,000 surplus and no taxes. I win.
It is odd when one's capacity for compassion is measured not in what he is willing to do by his own time, effort, and property, but what he will force others to do with their own property instead.

You know, if you can't control how you raise and lower revenue, this really makes it quite unreasonable. You'll end up with huge swings in spending that is unrealistic.

You are in advanced mode. Move to simple mode and you have a solution.

Advanced mode is to prevent the liberals from taxing those who are successful to death.

Har-har. Simple mode sucks arse. I want to micromanage, not guesstimate.

If you were in simple mode that makes no sense you can't implement nontax revenue sources.

If you were in advanced mode that makes no sense you can't lower taxes.

I raised taxes and revenues by 24.95% (that'll piss of conservatives and libertarians)
and cut spending by 42.12% (that'll piss liberals and socialists).

to have a surplus of over $150B, yippie me!
