The British Columbia Health Ministry has admitted that the remains of babies destroyed by abortion in B.C. facilities are ending up in a waste-to-power facility in the United States, providing electricity for residents of Oregon.

The province"s Health Ministry said in an email to the B.C. Catholic that "biomedical waste" shipped to the U.S. to be incinerated includes "human tissue, such as surgically removed cancerous tissue, amputated limbs, and fetal tissue."

"The ministry understands that some is transferred to Oregon. There it is incinerated in a waste-to-energy plant," the email stated.

The ministry said that contractors handling the province"s 'biomedical waste' follow "health and safety protocols, as well as federal, provincial, and local regulations."

I'd rather them go to medical research, but getting some use out of them is better than nothing.

Wha? Seriously?

I thought it costs more energy to burn a corpse than you would get from burning it, due to the high water content you need to boil off before the flesh is combustable.

I wonder if the Oregon plant knew there were aborted fetuses in the shipment of "biomedical waste" they received. If someone just told me to burn this bag of biomedical waste I wouldn't assume it was fetuses and I probably would burn it.

This calls for the state of Oregon to give our Canadian biowaste a proper funeral with their governor in attendance before dumping it in the incinerator.

Nobody really cares except you Juan. It seems you have missed the point completely. But if you must you could start an investigation into determining the water content of the biowaste bags?

Why are you being a utilitarian instead of a deontologist?

Did you ever consider that judging what's useful depends on the ability to judge remaining intact?

The event shouldn't be happening at all since it begs the question why anyone deserves energy when someone is being destroyed for energy to exist.

In essence, the distinction between those who are energized versus those who aren't comes down to luck, not skill.

Its true. It was all over the place.

Most are citing a single source, and their links to that source don't even work. Most of those places are also small, partisan news sites (or the Daily Mail). I'm suspicious.

When the anti-abortion, anti-free choice, rabid right, neo-nazis start sticking their heads into the bio-waste they're sure to come up with something that smells like a fetus. And if they don't then they'll make something up to serve their religious masters who program them.

Not a matter of liberal enough or not--it's a matter of finding a news source that isn't basing the story off of LifeSiteNews. Generally I don't trust Huffington Post.

You're not making any sense.

Whether abortion is OK is a whole different discussion. But if there are ALREADY dead fetuses, there is no "survival of the fittest"...

I see you're just taking this as an opportunity to strawman all liberals in general. I'm not saying I support what's being done, but your argument is totally moot to the discussion.

Right, cornflakes are only useful if I leave them intact, then?

Again, this is NOT a discussion on the morality of abortion.... Even if you thought abortion is inherently immoral and should be unlawful, you could still easily hold that fetuses that ARE aborted might as well be used for energy.

In essence, the distinction between those who are energized versus those who aren't comes down to luck, not skill.

Again, this is not on the act of abortion itself, but good job strawmanning... Not even a good strawman...

AGAIN, I am NOT necessarily in support of this; I find it absolutely repulsive and horrific; but the "yuck factor" is not a valid way to determine morality...

I think that's f*cked up. Do you have no respect for the bodies of once living humans? Showing respect for ones dead body is showing respect for the value of that person's humanity. Just as after your Grandpa dies you don't take his corpse and use it to make a fire instead of wood. Its about respect, and value for the person.
