(Yes, this is a serious question)

I think you have to be at least 30 to be elected.
Also, you know, they have more time on their hands....a lot of 30-50 year olds are busy working.

And, of course, people like to vote in the incumbant, I guess.
I think there are a few senators and congressmen that have been there for decades (i.e. since they were 40 or 50)
My work here is, finally, done.

I think it is time for younger people to be in there... For my generation's sake...

Well, how young? I think the age is about 35 or so, but most people tend to be older -- Paul Ryan's about 42, for instance, and people think of him as young. I wouldn't mind dropping the age reasonably, but I'm not for, let's say, 20-year olds in Congress. I could probably live with 28 or something, and even that's slightly pushing it.

Career politicians are bad, but, no offense, but what do teens know about the world?
Sure, there are worldly ones, but most don't even vote.
That is a mighty stereotype to overcome.

How are they doing that, exactly?

President is 35, I think senator is 30, and 28 for congress. Not sure exactly, but I know the houses of congress are less than president.

I thought it was 40, 35, and 30. I'll look it up.

It's almost a given that "they" are ruining this country -- it just depends on whose "they" and what characteristic is contributing most heavily. Someone just run a multiple regression with age as an experimental variable.

Actually, I shouldn't say this.
It's not the young per se....it's the stupid. There are many adults that fit this bill.
