This thread is to discuss, debate and learn about Austrian Economics.

"The Austrian school of economics was founded in 1871 with the publication of Carl Menger's Principles of Economics. Menger, along with William Stanley Jevons and Leon Walras, developed the marginalist revolution in economic analysis. In his book, Menger argued that economic analysis is universally applicable and that the appropriate unit of analysis is man and his choices. These choices, he wrote, are determined by individual subjective preferences and the margin on which decisions are made (see marginalism). The logic of choice, he believed, is the essential building block to the development of a universally valid economic theory." - Concise Encyclopedia of Economics[1]

Word of advice WJM. That's not how threads work here. The OP makes a controversial assertion, and then someone makes a long response, and then some analogy or something else gets quibbled over as a tangent, and the thread becomes about that.
It came to be at its height. It was commanded to command. It was a capital before its first stone was laid. It was a monument to the spirit of man.

I don't know about pokemon but the runescape economy is a great tool for explaining the subjective theory of value.
