I'm pretty happy about the reports that Tea Party members are going nuts over this health care bill. I believe they should protest to the point where multiple arrests occure. The gloves need to come off. I'd expect nothing different from the left if abortion were suddenly outlawed. In either case, the protestors have every right to be mad as hell, and every reason to break the rules. And as for following the rules? The rules (or Constitution as I call it) didn't work this time.

Violence isn't the answer.

Anyways, the Supreme Court will let this pass through. They have the 5-4 majority, last time I checked, and the loose interpretationists can decide that mandating insurance is a regulation justified by the Interstate Commerce Clause, even though we can't buy insurance out of state. Even without the Interstate Commerce Clause, there is precedent: Social Security, which has been given thumbs-up by the Supreme Court more than once [1]. It's unfortunate that our Constitution can't be used as a limit on government anymore, but it's the reality of the situation.

I do not agree with it but it reminds me of america of old. When people took it upon themselves to rebel.

Yes, it's good to allow people to throw bricks through windows with the intent of hitting others, and letting heckle black and gay members of Congress by shouting "n*gger" and "f*g" and other assorted names that I'll get banned for saying on here.

That's not breaking the rules - that's just being a bunch of racist, homophobic, disrespectful a-holes. But, hey, what else can you expect from the "Tea Party." Pft.

Eric Cantor had a f_cking bullet hole through his campaign headquarters window.

A few people aren't representative of a whole group, Volkov.

Oh my Lord. That's pretty bad.

I know, but I'm getting concerned that it ain't the "few" anymore. I've noticed that the more the Tea Party goes on, the more radical and violent it starts getting. It might be either because a) some radicals hijacks it, or b) moderates got more apathetic and the radicals are now pushing more through the surface.

Either way, it's getting pretty bad. I'm glad I live up here.

Yeah, I do not see how anyone can agree with what they are doing.

Well, I agree with the place it comes from but not the actions themselves.

That's the oddest analogy I've heard yet.

Yes, Canadians are much more peaceful people. If Canada wasn't so socialist, then I might consider moving there. :P

Less socialist than Europe, where they literally have Socialists.

You should move to Costa Rica. Laws are barely enforced, taxes are fairly low (in proportion to standard of living and disposable income for a foreigner, etc.) and all you need to do is learn broken Spanish!

I feel as though I'd miss the mean people though. They're amusing.

Besides, I'm not interested in becoming a Costa Rican politician.

They have actual libertarians down there, ones that are actually elected. You'll be sort of accepted! As a third party!

That's cool... we'll just sit back and wait until after the ensuing civil war. Then once you've pretty much all destroyed yourselves, Canada, the UK, France and possibly Russia will come in and clean up... Germany can come too.

... hey, a guy can dream can't he. XD

The whole point of becoming a politician is for the fame, fortune, and power. Anyone that says otherwise is a liar. Costa Rican politicians don't get so much of the above.

Ron Paul is a liar?
It is odd when one's capacity for compassion is measured not in what he is willing to do by his own time, effort, and property, but what he will force others to do with their own property instead.

You are greatly misguided. You are happy that someone is recieving death threats, and being degredated for voting for a bill?..Where was the outrage from the Tea Party for two invasions?Where was the outrage then?

Tehe. What is it then? Is the point to serve your fellow countrymen out of patriotic altruism? Geesh, that's one of the biggest cliches around. Being a politician is all about, fame, fortune, and power -- and that's the truth, no matter what anyone says.

This is why George Washington is a statesman, and not a politician.
