Here's an interesting map for you:

http://www.balloon-juice.com...

The red states are those that get more than $1.00 back for every dollar they send to the federal government.

Now, here's a map of red vs. blue states in the U.S:

http://www.balloon-juice.com...

As you can see, aside from Texas, every single red (Republican) state that moans and groans about giving money to the federal government GETS MORE MONEY BACK IN THE PROCESS. So the question is, if taking other people's money is so wrong, then why do those who complain TAKE THE MOST MONEY? They (the politicians) could easily say that they don't want or need the money - because they believe in "hard work" and not charity - and would rather their citizens not have to pay into social programs and keep taxes to a minimal. Yet their citizens DO receive help from social programs more than all the others. So hmm... what's that word again? Oh right: hypocrite. Not to mention that if you look at a map of the richest states, on balance, the great majority of them are blue meaning the blue's are the ones who pay into the federal government the most and receive the least. In short, I just thought I'd give this a little perspective.

Is there an article related to this? I'd like to see it.

Lol @ fail

http://www.debate.org...

A bogus statistic that shows dollar per tax dollar but fails to show to whom that dollar goes to. If it did it would show the poor (liberal) minority receiving 99% of those tax dollars regardless of state majority in all 50 states while the taxpayer (conservative except for the very high incomes) paying 99% of those taxes.

To quote the article, Republicans tolerated spending under Republican presidents for 30 years, accounting for 59% of our total national debt, all the while benefiting from federal spending at the expense of their counterparts in blue states, only to then go bananas when a Democratic president and Congress spend money to rescue a floundering economy. Reagan, GHW Bush and GW Bush all emphasized tax cuts and significant increases in military spending which constituted much of the debt increases under their presidencies... which is why I don't take the (R) here seriously when they're like "Obama's going to ruin us - waaah!" meanwhile the Republicans were doing the same thing and yet somehow they're the lesser evil. Haha even though the Democrats and blue states are essentially subsidizing the red states. Gotta love it.

What are you saying? That 99% of federal spending goes to social programs? Bahaha now that's a fail assertion. Fact: Poor people receive welfare. Fact: Red states are poorer than blue states. Fact: blue states pay more taxes to the feds and yet get less. That's all I was saying, so what you're saying is blabbidy blah blah blah irrelevant.

Seems somewhat like a "equalization" program. (I'm sorry, I can only rationalize things from a Canadian perspective.)

The federal government receives its revenue from the richer states, then sends it out to the poorer states so those states have some sort of lifeline and ability to fund themselves and the programs they both want and are forced to get. In other words: it's a communist plot! Even though it was probably set up by a Republican...

I for one would take a communist over a neocon. At least the communist is sincere, and will tell you openly that yes he is communist, the neocon will try to deny it but he just cant hide his doings

yet people seem to forget too quickly what neocons truly are and are now rallying around that neocon Palin = (

I'd take the neocon. Piss the public off some more. With the commie they'd just be tranquilized into believing that because commie says that he/she believes so means that any effect that comes out of it is fine because they "tried". Which I think is a bunch of bull.

Tehe and it's not bull that a neocon can tranquilize people into believing that the domino theory is real (that if we don't go fight, bad things will happen - raaawwwr!)? A communist might 'try' to do good in that they want to preserve life or improve people's quality of life (or whatever) while a neocon wants to take money just to go kill people unnecessarily. Regardless, I thought it was socialist vs. neocon in which case I'd take the socialist, I guess (if the amount of money they were demanding were the same anyway).
