What do you think is more detrimental to the development of young children? Is it worse that children:

1: view images of happy adults who are naked?

2: view violent images of people being indiscriminately murdered and tortured?

We've all seen it- the overbearing parent who would stop it nothing to make sure their child never sees an image of another human without clothes. They may say things to their children like:

"Oh no little Johnny: shield your eyes! That woman on the TV doesn't have on a bra!"

Statistically speaking that exact same parent allows their child to consume violent images on TV and elsewhere. Perhaps the child of this parent will go on to play games like Gears of War where human enemies can be exploded with grenades and eviscerated with chainsaws. (I have nothing against GOW; I think it's a great game.)

Am I the only one that sees something slightly strange about this whole situation?

I for one would like the number one option. (But it would have to be naked women, no men)

I will have no issue with any of my children viewing porn, masturbating, etc. It's part of the process, and to be frank, I think there are some problems with them if they aren't.

That said I also wont' have problems with them playing GTA and watching Saw I - V so long as they are mature enough to handle it.

I am going to let my kids rob a bank, and beat up the homeless. I really think that it is part of growing up. Kids want to be bad, who am I to stop them.

I will raise my children properly, and will probably not let them watch/play anything that can harm them. Pornography is totally excluded because it leads to strong desires for sex, and they may wish to fornicate, and I definitely do not wish a life where they may get into big trouble (early pregnancy etc.) so I have to be worried too much. It is not worth it. I myself am not easily affected by violent content, such as on GTA IV, but many people are, and that is why I generally do not advise people playing it.

Masturbation is a victimless action bro as is watching Saw and playing GTA.

Unlike you, I don't want my kids to be taken away from me by the government. If they're doing that stuff before puberty, i'll have issues with it. After about 14-15, I'll just tell them to close their doors.

I assume the answer is that many parents worry about their children getting knocked up at 14, but rarely consider that their child might wander outside with a chainsaw and eviscerate the neighbourhood.

Violence is more acceptable than sexuality. A 15 rating film can hack limbs of till the cows come home, but a bit of nudity... no.
I am voting for Innomen because of his intelligence, common sense, humility and the fact that Juggle appears to listen to him. Any other Presidential style would have a large sub-section of the site up in arms. If I was President I would destroy the site though elitism, others would let it run riot. Innomen represents a middle way that works, neither draconian nor anarchic and that is the only way things can work. Plus he does it all without ego trips.

This question is unable to be answered honestly. Each child is his own separate case, each will react differently to both situations.
